Great ground plane kit.
Got this ground plane kit to test on my mobile rig. Tested this two different Comet antenna. One is a Comet CSB790A and a Comet CA-2x4SR. Both are dual banders.Though these antenna are mounted on a 1"x2" extrusion style rack. Though I have a decent grounding from the rack to the steel roof on my 1999 Toyota 4-Runner. This ground plane kit helps with the SWR a tad bit. On the Comet CSB790A antenna. It's a UHF style and I got a NMO adapter for the antenna mount. So with that being said. I tested the SWR and wattage output from my ICom 2730A mobile radio with the MARS mod using a Surecom SW102 meter and a Sysjoint NanoVNA-F V3 analyzer. One to test the harmonics and resonance of both antenna on 2m and 70cm bands. Both were tested on the 2m and 70cm calling frequency. Was able to make several contacts about 40+ miles away with full quieting. This kit did improve a tab but nut I don't plan on using this while being mobile. This kit best work on attaching the supplied stainless steel bracket to a post or pole using two supplied heavy duty hose clamp where there's no flat metal object to use a ground plane.I haphazardly attached this to my wooden fence and it did to reduce and lower the SWR quite a bit.Everything helps when you're trying to make that connection either simplex or trying to hit that long distance repeater long distant away. Also Nagoya said you can use this while mobile but my highly not the SWR don't help much or at all. But word of caution is that if you wish to use this while driving. I would recommend use medium strength thread locker on the hardware before you start driving.Great ground plane kit with no issues other than the set screw is small. I almost 4 of them.I would recommend this to any mobile HAM operatiors especially when you're at park with just a wooden post or tree you can attach the bracket to.

Easy install
Worked like I wanted it to. Fit right where I expected it to on the back hatch of my Acadia. Used a 144/440 nmo antenna on the mount. Good Tx/Rx going to buy another for my wife's Traverse. Recommend this great quality.

Nice mount, but you may have to remove the anti scratch cover to get it to really stick
UPDATE 2023-11-05 - Determined that the magnet is just fine. It's the anti scratch cover that was the problem. After removing that (and saving, just in case) the mount grips just fine, and made the ~200 mile trip with no issues at all. I strongly suggest to the manufacturer that the anti scratch be modified if possible so it doesn't impede the magnet strength.*****INITIAL REVIEW 2023-11-03 - Waiting for the TB-320A antenna to show up today. It will be installed, and then it's off on a road trip for the weekend. That will be the first real test of this base. Ratings will be adjusted and the review edited as I continue testing.VALUE FOR MONEY: 5/5. To get a decent looking mag mount base for this price is something that hasn't really happened for me since the heyday of Radio Shack in the 80s and 90s. (Pay attention - you'll hear Radio Shack come up again in a bit.)DURABILITY: 3/5. I haven't road and load tested the base yet, score will be adjusted after I've done so.STURDINESS: 3/5. I haven't road and load tested the base yet, score will be adjusted after I've done so.My first impression of just the base alone is that it looks nice, it's a decent price, and it should work nicely...but I have one specific concern already, and that's the strength of the magnet itself.Compared to my now almost-ancient Radio Shack dual-band mobile mag mount antenna, the magnet strength seems noticeably weaker, far more so than could be accounted for due to just size difference. Once the Radio Shack base is stuck, it's STUCK, regardless of the car surface condition, and it won't move without at least some effort. This base, though, seems far too easy to move around just by hand, even without an antenna attached. I'm hoping that perhaps it's just my initial placement or that it was the car surface which was causing it - I've moved it to a better location that I wiped down and dried prior to attaching, so we'll see how that works out.I will probably be getting a ground plane attachment to test as well, as a comparison to using just the base itself. Stay tuned. 😎

Install an antenna anywhere.
I can't install an antenna on the roof of my car. I have a panoramic sunroof and a roof rack where I haul my canoe. I used this to install on my rear lift gate and it was super easy. There were some minor mounting issues with the thickness of the vehicles metal but I was able to find a spot that fit well. It seems to be holding up so far to the elements but we'll will have to see. I will update if needed.

Converts mobile antenna into base station
This is an excellent replacement for the white antenna typically used on a house. My HOA said no the fiberglass stick but a mobile antenna has not been seen and works great.

High quality, versatile fit
This mount can fit on a variety of vehicles I’m sure. I had to get a little creative to find the right place, but once I did, this got the job done. The adjustability is great! It’s stayed tight even on high way driving.

Worked well, broke in 8 months
The cord is thick and feels high quality, the magnet is strong and holds up a 1 meter antenna without issue. The contact point with the antenna did, however, become disconnected from the base itself after 8 months of use, rendering it non-functional.

Strong magnet for holing my 38 inch dual band antenna
Great mount for the middle on my van. With a strong magnet it should stay put.

Nothing to complain about
Fit easily on the tailgate of our SUV, has stayed in place for months even when driving long distances along dirt and gravel roads, and provides a good signal ground with a UHF antenna. Cable was long enough to go below the seats and mats to the radio with two or three feet to spare.

Ok. I guess...
Well built . Sturdy mount and components..Only complaint is that there is not enough fastening surface for the unit to attach. Only about 1/4" of holding surface and the gap to fit the panel in is quite narrow.

Worked Perfect
I mounted my vhf NMO mobile antenna on it at a height of 22 feet. I receive stations up to a 50 mile radius. Works great.
