Bachmann Trains - Thomas & Friends Thomas with Annie and Clarabel Ready To Run Electric Train Set - HO Scale

The media could not be loaded. My 11-year-old son recently got into model trains. That's all he asked for this year for Christmas. I got this set as a base and we added tracks and other Bachmann cars.First off, this set is quick. I expected it to be a little slower because it's made for kids, but I don't think it is.Second, it's still new but the cars glide over the track (both included and purchased separately) smoothly. Every once in awhile, you might need to readjust the car back on the track.Third, it's just plain fun. But you definitely want to consider adding a couple of track pieces. Right out of the box, it only goes in a small circle. We added a couple of straight pieces and some curves when we moved it down to the basement and it's a much bigger track.We've had so much fun with this model train set. This is a great starter set for a younger child looking to get into model railroading. It's more affordable than purchasing tracks, controller, and cars individually, it's easy to use, and it's Thomas. Who doesn't love Thomas?

I bought this for my nephews in 2018 for $90 and again for another nephew in 2024 for $120. They love it but not worth that price increase!!

I loved this item! The set was easy to assemble, easy to disassemble, and overall fun! The only problem I had was that the eyes don’t move, and the thing that could be better is if Thomas could climb hills.

It's confusing without watching a video but other than that I like this product, I got it for Lisa Simpson, it runs smoothly.

First off everyone needs to be aware that this is an HO train set and it is not a toy for small children. HO railway stuff is more "model" than toy. It is not large. If young children are involved an adult needs to be closely supervising as these are delicate models. I deducted one star as the rerailer on a curved section of track doesn't play all that well with Thomas, especially when reversing. It tends to bind up Thomas' drivers going forward too. I will be buying some straight track with a rerailer to solve that. Other than that the train performs well. Detail is good. The box it came in clearly was designed by the marketing department to try and justify the price...it is ridiculously large for what it contains.
