12 cubic foot black retro refrigerator
So far I'm really enjoying this refrigerator. It's one of the few refrigerators on the market that fits the space I'm working on. I'ts tall enough to fit more stuff in than the typical 10 cubic foot fridge, and its width is perfect for me-- deep enough to fit a lot of food, but not too deep that things are getting lost in the back. I like the can storage in the door too. I can hear the fridge motor turn on, but I don't think it's loud. It uses about 300 watts per hour, which is not too much power for a full size refrigerator. The things I put in the freezer have stayed frozen, and items i get out of the fridge are cold, so It's working just fine so far. I also love the retro look.

Great Looking Retro Refrigerator That's A Piece of Garbage! Bought 8 Months Ago and Trouble Already!
UPDATE: I wish I could give this a zero or less! I have had the refrigerator for about 8 months and now the refrigerator section is just cool, not even cool enough to be safe for the food I have in there. I guess all the people that wrote bad reviews about this were right. I like the look of it but the looks don't keep my food cold. So, if you want an 8-month refrigerator that looks nice then this is the one to get. The freezer section is working great. Everything is frozen solid just like others have said. I am totally disappointed with this refrigerator! Please BELIEVE THE REVIEWS SO THAT YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED! If someone is giving this a five-star review they probably just purchased it. You need to look for reviews from someone who has owned it for a couple of years. The light in the refrigerator also went out 2 days after I started using it. The other thing that I don't like is that it is open at the bottom. The wires are just hanging out. This doesn't seem right at all! A rodent or a kitten could get in there and chew on things or mess with something. I think it is obvious that the area should be covered. Now I will have to figure out how I will cover it. It comes in a box with very thin styrofoam to protect it which must be why people keep getting damaged ones. The other thing that does worry me quite a lot is that there are warnings on the back of it saying that it could explode. I spent quite a bit of time online trying to find out how likely it is that my refrigerator will explode. I suppose refrigerators have been exploding for years but I never knew it was a possibility until I saw it on the back of this fridge. I can't afford to have even part of my house destroyed because of an exploding refrigerator, and I don't want to be killed or injured by an exploding fridge either.I bought the extended warranty plan because of all the bad reviews. When I complained to Amazon about the refrigerator they filed a claim with Asurion for me. I didn't think I would get anything because that warranty isn't supposed to go into effect until the manufacturer's warranty expires. However, they gave me an Amazon credit right away for $425. With all the taxes and everything the refrigerator cost $450 plus the $57.99 for the warranty so I am still out $83 and I still have a refrigerator that doesn't work. I don't feel like the whole thing is right because the manufacturer provides a one-year warranty and they didn't do anything about fixing the frig. What if I didn't pay extra for the three-year warranty? I probably wouldn't have gotten anywhere. When I did try to contact Galanz first they gave me a big runaround just like others have said. They wanted at least 6 or 7 pieces of information, like a number that is supposed to be between the prongs on the cord, the year the refrigerator was made etc. If you are going to buy this frig I guess you should get the extended warranty so that you can at least get an Amazon credit when the thing breaks down. I still feel cheated because I rarely ever shop at Amazon but now I will have to shop at Amazon to use my credit. I really just wanted to get my refrigerator fixed or get cash back. Another thing is that the $425 credit they gave me isn't enough to buy the refrigerator again because it has gone up about $200. They didn't compensate me for the value of the food that I had to throw out either. The whole thing isn't right and it is unsettling. I would never buy a Galanz product again! I am very pleased with the Asurion warranty, however.

Great for a small family
I don't typically write reviews for my Amazon buys, but this item has exceeded my expectations for the price by far. We moved into our first home and the old fridge left behind was just not worth trying to salvage. Being somewhat cash strapped and not ready to commit to a full-size replacement (especially others with this retro style), we stumbled upon this. I was skeptical at first, but the fridge is a perfectly managable size for two people in terms of storage space, and the black retro look is great. Appearance has kept it's charm and still looks new six months on.No issues with shipping, no issues of any kind. Having a smaller fridge leaves us more space in the kitchen as well, which may be hard to lose whenever we upgrade to a full-size fridge as our family grows. The end game for this will become either a garage or basement fridge, when that time comes. The only con I can give is that some items toward the back of the very top shelf may get a little too chilly, we've had a few smaller items freeze back there - the best problem to have with a fridge, it can cool too well at times. Might even just be something we could adjust further with the freezer settings, but we're happy.

Great for the price
Like with all things- I never leave a 5 star as that says there is no room to improve.Whats good:1) great price given the size. Most refrigerators of this price range barely hold enough for one. This one can get our family of 5 through for a week and a half room wise.2) It works great. It does exactly what it should and keeps everything cold- do not set it to the coldest, thats overkill especially on the bottom half.3) I love that they did not try to change up which end was the frozen food. It is extremely awkward and can lead to back problems if the frozen stuff (which is always heavier) is on the bottom. This design keeps the freezer on top which prevents the physical strain.4) the shelves are easily shifted to fit everything where you want it. No more trying to decide which shelf can fit what- prefer drinks up top? set the shelves appropriately. Prefer them mid or bottom? adjust how you will.Downside:1) the freezer is a little small. That said, I still like the fact that even the freezer has a shelf that can be adjusted- no more having to pull everything out to get the thing buried in the back!2) I thought this fridge was larger than it actually was, but that was my fault for miscalculating. So not really the company at fault- just a note to those buying to make sure they properly measure things.3) It was a little slow to cool down. I don't know if this is typical of all new fridges, but I was glad I had not purchased anything that needed to stay frozen or I would have been in trouble.Over all, once this is set up and has had about 5 or 6 hours to reach its normal running temps, this fridge is great for the price. If you do not absolutely have to have enough food to feed an army at all times, this is a much better deal than spending over a grand on a bigger fridge- or 700 on a fridge that belongs in a hotel room.
