What is required for owl to feed a youtube or facebook realtime? we want our hoa bod meetings to go live to members.

The Meeting Owl Pro has been tested and works with Facebook Live and Youtube Live streaming! All you will need to do is connect your Owl to your computer via USB, select the Meeting Owl Pro as your camera, speaker and microphone in either Facebook Live or Youtube Live and you should be good to go!

Is there a way to turn off the Wi-Fi on this device once it is registered and updated? If not, it leaved a huge security hole for networked computers

While there is no currently way to disable the Wi-Fi radio on the Owl, you can disconnect from Wi-fi once the Owl is updated and registered though you will have to reconnect each time for future update - If you have any other questions about Wi-fi security, feel free to reach out to our support team at support[at]owllabs[dot]com for more info!

There is no reason this should be $800-1000 dollars, what is going on with this bilking?

If you can find another device that includes a 360 camera, 8 microphones, a speaker and the ability to automatically frame up several active participants at once, I would love to know about it! Especially, if you know of something at a lower price. We own 5 Meeting Owls and everyone loves them. Can you say that about your cheap webcam?

Are there recording capabilities?

The ability to record a meeting, audio or video will depend on the platform you are using the Meeting Owl Pro with so while the Owl itself has no built-in recording hardware you can use VLC or Quicktime, for example, to record the audio and video of the Owl via USB (or your video conferencing platform if it has this feature)!
