Sennheiser RS195-U Digital TV Wireless Headphone

This is is the second one I have bought,the first one I got was eight years ago. I was delighted with that,better than blue tooth! . When I connected this one to my tv, I was pleased to find a few improvements namely clarity and ease of use.

I have to say I have other Sennheiser Products. A cheap light head set for the computer, and also an RS180 set, which are about ten years old and going strong. So I brought the RS195 on the strenth of my experence. I will admit my hearing is not good and my pride is not helping. My lovley daughter complained about the volume I had the TV at so these have worked. I now can under stand speach and music with out the subtitles, and the balance ajusts perfectly. Also the hearing ajustment bit which I don't truly understand but it works. The only thing for me is the ajustment on my head, but I will get that right and comfortable. Great Headphones for me, my hearing loss is about 50/10% and I have to wear aids, most of the time. But not with this setup. I have opitical out puts on my TV/DVD/BT Box so I have the best quality I can manage, and I can switch to the analog setting and notice the drop in quality, in fact its quite dramatic. The amazing thing for me is being able to hear all the sound track on a film, and injoy the sound of the music. I am looking forward to the proms this year, and also find Sky arts a joy. So I am a very satified person. I have tryed to think of a minus point but only come up with the fit on my silly head, and having to mind earrings, so I'm vain at my age!!! Having had the previous model for 10 years until it just disintegrated I was looking forward to receiving the new modelI have a LG smart TV and hoped the connection was as easy as the video showed and as easy my previous model was to install .It took me hours for it to finally connect and todate I cannot get the sound bar to connect with the TV and headphones so have to use the audio connect and my wife has to listen to the tinny sound from the inbuilt speakers.I also get echo feedback and have tried everything to get rid of it .The old model was absolutely no problem !! So much for progress.The good news is the sound is superb for me with my hearing disability and is a quantum leap in clarity on the old pair.I am now tempted to buy a new TV to to try to alleviate the echo feedback but would keep my 3 year old LG if only I could fix the problem.Having been on numerous websites and applied the various fixes none have worked and emailing Sennheiser support all I got back was a cut & paste from the problem section of the leaflet they provide so not enamoured with the support.However superb clarity is their but a very expensive price with poor support.

Great headphones, really good quality and sound good

Before I purchased this Sennheiser I had the HDR175 for about 5 years which was good and then I notice they had been updated to the HDR195 so I thought I’d give them a try having read all the comments.From the day I used them I’ve never looked back.Before these headphones I had a constant battle with my beloved wife on the volume of the T.V. I wonted it up she wonted down, some of you will understand what I mean.My wife s hearing is the equivalent to 20 20 vision mine at most 15 15 if that's a scale you get the gist.It’s very easy to set them up just follow the instruction and bob’s your uncle and you ready to go.The only criticism I have the ear pad cushions which do a great job disintegrated after about a couple of years meaning you have to get them replaced, no bid deal, replacement Ear Pads Cushions for Sennheiser HDR RS195 RS195 RS195. £19.66So there you go great hearing experience and marriage saver and she who must be obeyed agrees.

Setup as per the instructions, unit showed it was receiving the correct signal from the TV but no sound transmitted to the Headphones.Tried different optical cables and ensured the TV settings were correct, still no sound.Gave up , sent it back.

My wife did tons of research and told me these were the ones for me - specifically for people who wear hearing aids. I’ve found that music on the tv is really good, but normal speech is average. I can now watch films without subtitles, so they do the job they were brought for. But, having heard how good music sounded I was a little disappointed in voice sound. I can hear ok, but expected more for a very expensive product.

This headphone set is great for listening to the TV, especially when trying to hear US TV programs with actors drawling behind background music. The cups are larger than on my previous Sennheiser set (HDR 170) and fit much better. I am hoping that Sennheiser have used improved material on the ear pads and headband pads, as the HDR 170 pads flaked badly and I was on the second set before purchasing this higher spec. headphone set. I cannot comment on the efficiency of the volume control, as I connect the headphones to the TV via my amplifier. One of the good features of this set, is that with source sound on, once you lift the headphones off the transmitter, it auto-starts. Delighted with the upgrade.
