Great for fiberglass work
This sanding block was recommended by a composites materials expert. There is a lot of sanding when working on fiberglass items and that's where I use it the most. It works remarkably well for that purpose, with little to no tendency to clog or degrade. The double sided coarse/fine grit is very handy. My friend that recommended it has used his for hundreds of hours of fiberglass work on his airplane.

Beastly!
This Perma-Grit Sanding Block is a Beast! It says 80 grit and 120 grit. More like 60 grit and 100 grit. I used it on a large Balsa Sailplane and had to back off on pressure. Otherwise it was like using a power sander and just eat the wood away. When finished the surfaces of the Sanding Block still looked brand new. Should last several years.

Good sanding device
great sanding device, but when sanding some OSB, slivers of the OSB would get jammed up under the 'sand paper". Other than that.. very good.

Handy tool!
This is a pretty handy tool to have around. No more searching for sandpaper every time! I would say both sides are quite a bit coarser than the rated grits — although maybe it’s just that the metal “sanding” surface is just less forgiving than paper. This is more useful for shaping or rounding over corners than for actual finish sanding. If you lay the block on its side, the sanding surface is at a right angle, so you can use it to “shoot” edges. (It would work better if the sanding surface went all the way to the edge, but there’s about a 1/8” gap.) Be sure to clean the surface periodically or it can get bogged down.

Sanding surface concave, defective
I'd love a quality carbide sanding block but this isn't it. The sanding surfaces are concave so only the edges of the block make contact with the wood. I sent it back.

Next level
I own and operate a classic car restoration shop. I am currently working on a 1966 corvette. I own a few products from perms-grit, which I did all the sanding of bodywork and primer on this project! Haven’t missed a beat and continue to perform! I will be purchasing the entire product line

Works as advertised
I bought one of these and used it on multiple projects to put it through the test. The biggest issue I have is I didn't know about these before now. I immediately ordered another one I loved it so much and use it all the time. It will also save you on sandpaper.
