Perfect product for painfree nights.
Exactly what I've needed for years. CDNH is painful and I have it in both ears. Wouldn't buy the pillow as I don't like anything near my face. This is wonderful.

Don't waste your money on this.
I will start with this thing is huge. I read the dimensions and knew it would be large, but opening it up and seeing just how large it was, was odd. I tried it out immediately to see how it would feel and wasn't surprised at all that it was horribly uncomfortable. I was surprised by the fact that it is so stiff, that when I laid my head down on it, it compressed so little that no other part of my head was within 3 inches of my pillow under this and it was impossible for my head to not rock back and fourth. I decided that it may work ok if I were to slice it down the middle to make it shorter, but before I did this I went back and checked the return options. This is where I was really disappointed in myself because I hadn't paid enough attention to see that it was not eligible for return. That is bad service on them, but ultimately my fault because I should have checked that before I purchased it. I usually do. Since I couldn't return it anyway, I decided to use a bread knife to slice it in half. It is very hard to cut it just right so it is a little uneven, but worked ok. I took off around 1.25" around the bottom, leaving about .5" of foam to the bottom of the cones and about 1.75" from the bottom to the top of the cones. This was a lot better as I could lay on it and the rest of my head could just start to touch the pillow under this, but it was still too tall. It still wasn't stable enough since my head was basically balancing on this alone and the other issue with that is that it put all the pressure from the weight of my head onto this little portion of my face instead of spreading it out to the whole side of my head. I sliced off another .5" which was right at the bottom of the cones from the side profile, but actually cut the bottom of them off since they were actually lower at the center of the cones then at the edge of the foam. This was the perfect height for me. It looks like swiss cheese because of the bottom of the cones being cut off, but the height is perfect so when placing my head on it, it compresses enough that the rest of my head reaches the pillow beneath to spread out the pressure from the weight of my head, but still providing enough space to keep my ear from reaching the pillow beneath it and alleviating the pressure. I had to completely destroy this thing to get it to where it works, but it is possible to get it there if you are willing to adjust it. Since you cannot return it, you might as well try, right? These were my biggest issues with this. There is still the fact that it is itchy and can really use a "pillowcase" type bag for it to make it more comfortable, but I haven't had it long enough to make one yet. That is my next project. I wish it came with one, but on the other hand, it would need to fit the full item and that would be way to big for mine after adjusting it so it would be a waste on their part in the long run.I provided some photo's of my "adjustments". I know they aren't pretty, but it is what it is and it worked. I balanced a ruler next to it in 3 of the shots to provide the approximate measurements. In the "Final slice" image, you can see that I had to use a small piece of double sided foam tape to get it to stand since the foam wasn't enough to get the ruler to stand vertically. It doesn't affect the measurements at all as the ruler actually has a slight slant up from the number side to the upper ridge so the tape actually leveled it some.I wouldn't buy this again, but if you are willing to make some adjustments, you can get it to work for you. I think it is money better spent to get one of the pillows with the divot built in for your ear. This is what I think I am going to end up doing as this is a pain to lie down, get situated, determine where my head will be on the pillow and then I can lift my head slightly and slide this in between my head and the pillow. This is the only way to make sure it's in the correct place so your ear is somewhat centered in the "donut" hole.

Uncomfortable
This pillow is very hard and seems bigger than others I have had. And in truth, the overall product doesn't have to be that big to protect the ear. The opening for the ear is great. Just doesn't need to be quite as thick or as big around. I cut my old one in size and it works just as great!

Works well with a little modification.
After trying this pillowette for a week, I'm mostly happy with it. I debated giving it five stars, but it's not entirely comfortable, but I can't see any way around that. To be firm enough for support, it gives up a little comfort. I had to trim off some of the rounded "spikes"which poked my cheek, but other than that, this works well. I just wrapped it in a pillowcase, which works OK. Overall, it's the best remedy for a sore ear I've found so far.

Don’t Buy
This product is smaller than the one I purchased on Amazon from Mels Medical Supplies in September of last year. It looks the same as the one I purchased has year. But is smaller. And the fosm is very firm as others have reported. Therefore not as comfortable. Very disappointing. Not worth the price. Can’t return this product.

Great for side sleeping ear plug wearers
This is a great little pillow! I use it in combination with a regular pillow. The ear protector is right beside my regular pillow on my bed so when I roll over and want to sleep on my side, and don't want to squish my ear, I can just fit my ear inside the ear protector and the back of my head and neck is still supported by my regular pillow. I have custom fitted ear plugs from my audiologist which are fantastic for blocking out sound and they don't have inner ear pressure pain like you get from foam ear plugs. These custom ear plugs are made from silicon so they do not have any give to them and sleeping on your side causes painful pressure points after a few hours. The ear protector is the perfect solution! My ear fits in the hole, therefore my ear is not squished or deformed like it would be with a regular pillow and voila, no ear plug pain. Silent restful night of sleep = priceless! What would make this product even better is using better foam (e.g. memory foam) and providing a cover that is removable and washable.

Too firm and tall
I envisioned this being soft and squishy like a bed topper. I just needed some thing soft to create a little space between my ear and my pillow for an ear piercing that needed to heal. Not the case. Very firm and tall. Hurt my jaw instantly. Non returnable. Disappointed waste of money.

Perfect
For years I’ve been trying to make “ear” pillows so I could rest comfortably on my side. So far this one has been the very best! After making this rudimentary pillowcase cover, it is perfect! Even if it needs to be replaced periodically, it is well worth the money.
