Is this for both rear drums or one?

Yes, for both rear drums. Brake pads must be replaced in sets, right side and left side, that's the way they're sold... same thing if you're going to replace your drums or rotors... the place of both at the same time.

What are the dimensions of this item? I returned a Bendix RS593 set due to extra length of shoe back plate that won't fit 10" drum.

These rear shoes are for the GM C1500 or K1500 half ton chassis for various years...check your model...fit my 94 K1500 oem perfect..

what kind of hardware do they come with besides the shoes. just so i know what i need. thank you for any info you can give me

It's just the shoes in a box, i think it may have come with a tiny packet of grease. You'll need to purchase a spring kit, a wheel cylinder, and the parking brake kit separately to do a full internal rebuild. Would suggest changing the drum and brake hose while you're down there.
