OEM part
Pain in the rear to replace, but stopped our issue with the vehicle thinking the engine was too cold and shutting off the AC.

Fixed my steering assist is reduced - drive with care and the coolant indication showing full cold
OEM replacement coolant temperature sensor for my 2017 GMC Acadia Denali with the 3.6L engine. I looked at severat youtube videos and found the best way to replace it was not taking off the intake manifold. You need a 15MM shallow 1/4 drive socket made by Duralast and swivel extension or universal swivel. Also a long 10 to 12 inch pick set really helped get the red locking tab moved on the connector. With the right tools, the job took about an hour. Just took off the upper airbox and the top cover of the engine as shown in the pictures. Take your time and with the right socket combination it`s a fairly easy task.

Difficult to install
This sensor fixed the PO128 code immediately. Installation is difficult. You need to remove the thermostat and everything that entails to be able to get to it without removing the fuel injection stuff above it. The thermostat has a difficult bolt to remove as well but if you use a 10 mm nut driver you can get that one difficult bolt. Then just use a screwdriver to slide the red locking mechanism up on the connector and long needle nose pliers to depress the connector to pull it off. A ratchet wrench 15 mm will help you to unscrew the sensor but it will be short strokes about two clicks at a time. Will take some time to unthread the sensor. Getting the new one started is even more difficult due to very little space to get one hand in there. If you're patient you can eventually get it started and then use the ratchet wrench again to tighten the new one down.

Right part! Pain to install!
I was happy it was the right part but I vowed after putting it in if it ever goes out again I'll set my truck on fire, report it stolen and claim it with insurance. Just kidding but it was a pain to change.
