LavaLock The 14-40™ Charcoal Basket for 55 Gallon UDS - 14" Round

Built really well. I do recommend everyone do test run runs with no meat or secondary meat. I had to relearn my vents but working great so far.

It's large enough for a 20 lb bag of charcoal and has a ash pan and the side is solid all the way around the basket so i don't get alot ash blowing around. I use in my UDS 55 gallon smoker I built This design let's me control my temperature for longer burns also very heavy built.

Rust on the basket but it still was ok. This was the first time I got a basket with rust on it.

Excellent charcoal basket with best air flow. Using this, I am able to run my UDS at any temp from 200 to 400! (And it will hold steady). Highly recommend to anyone looking for a solid well built charcoal basket with an ash pan! If I ever have to replace this it will be with another one of the same. It's that good.

WTF did I receive? Received this on 2/12/24. Arrived fast. That's where the fun ends. Looks used, it's bent, scratched up, looks burnt, and is missing the screws for the handle. I'm highly upset. Where is the quality control? Came in a beat up box that was taped together, I should have known. I mean what more could be wrong?

Really appreciate this basket for my UDS as the one premium component to an otherwise cheap DIY setup. I recommend when you get it, make sure the nuts securing the handle are tightened down and checking every so often. Mine loosened up and I lost it. Easy fix and easy to prevent.Depending on your climate and what charcoal you use, this basket should easily get you through a large brisket smoke (12-16hrs).

Perfect for my UDS. Holds lots of fuel and very sturdy.
