Is the solenoid inside rated for continuous duty? I do not see it in the specifications.

OK so let me start by saying nowhere on the package does it give a duty rating. With that being said, I have been quite impressed with the quality of this item. It's heavy duty and functions very smoothly. I have this on an outside wrought iron gate that ways about 200 Lbs. And it locks on when the exterior lights come on and off when the lights go off. It has been operating at an apartment complex in the San Francisco Bay area for just over a year now and has not had a single issue. The latch is fully exposed to the elements as well as the salt air from the bay. I would feel comfortable installing this on a door or gate where it is locked 24/7. I hope this helps and good luck.

Can this unit be operated with computor control, with 8 hour off (with manual control)

Can i use out side? water resistant??

Use silicone or hot glue to coat your connections and it will be fine in a door that see some rain.

What is the resistor for?

The resistor is for prevent high voltage to two ends of the electronic lock while the contact of access control unit relay disconnect. Without diode, there will be high voltage pulse interference to circuits and the life time of the access control unit relay will be greatly reduced.
