Fastest New Computer Setup EVER
This Cable Matters USB 3.0 Data Transfer Cable PC to PC is amazing! Using the Easy Sync software (included free with this cable) transferring all of my old data - documents, pictures, desktop, etc. - was the easiest experience I have ever had when setting up a new computer. What used to take me hours the "old way" of copying my old computer files to a USB drive and then copying them back into my new computer took less than 10 minutes with this cable transfer system. Everything transferred flawlessly and I was able to select what files I wanted to transfer versus transferring everything. Easy to understand instructions and a virtual "plug n play" concept. Never again will I set up a new computer without this Cable Matters USB 3.0 Data Transfer Cable PC to PC!

It Transfers the Videos I Want
Had to install two copies of one of two transfer option apps, so I went with PClink5, which wasn't too time consuming nor confusing, until I got to the actual transfer screens on each computer. (Link5 does say this cable only works up to Win10, though Amazon's ad shows Win11, and it worked for me). My new computer had some exact 'Program Filesx86' that was on the old computer, which shouldn't be so I'm going to see if I can just delete it along with several other anomalous transfers. Most media went fine, until I tried to transfer a folder of many video files, and was told repeatedly that there was not enough storage, of which there is plenty in actuality. So I must do individual file transfers out of that one folder and it slows it down, of course. Even the PClink5's device manager shows it in the red with little room left, and I can't find any information on that yet.The apps speed is fairly good, except of my long video folders and then it's up to 30 minutes or so.

Translation between PCs was very slow and only partially transferable after several tries
Partially transferred data from one PC to another and very slow

Do not Buy it. It is a waste of time.
I bought this cable to transfer my data from my old computer to a new computer, I thought it would be an easy process since It is a data cable and it would facilitate the process. The software that came with this cable is outdated, it is not user friendly since there is nothing that identifies the old computer and the new computer. The files are written down as computer jargon and as I open windows all look encoded and not easy to identify. I had to return since it did not work. I tried to look at youtube tutorials and online resources and there is nothing that says how to identify the data and which window is the old computer and which one in the new computer, (example: computer 1 or computer 2 or Old computer, New computer, etc.). I choose to buy more space on Microsoft office 360 and upload my documents there and open them on the new computer since it is a lot easier and hustle free. I also tried with Dell migration and it was the same. It took too much transfer up to three days to transfer the data by using my wifi signal, so I had to cancel that as well. Microsoft Personal Vault is as easy as copy or drag the folder to it and open on the other end and that is it. (No, I do not work for Microsoft or get paid by them).I only wanted fast data, easy data transfer from my old computer to my new computer, and nothing else. I did not need software to transfer or any setups, my old computer is about 10 years old and most software is outdated from it. I wanted to transfer personal files, pictures, pdf files, and may be some shortcuts of google chrome. This was the biggest disappointment that I had.

The Cable Matters cable works, but I use different software
Overview: I have used this cable successfully for 2 years to transfer files between various Windows 10 and Windows 11 computers.Software: I don't use the Cable Matters software; instead, I use powerful file management software. The file manager is intended for power users; the learning curve is relatively long, and the software's capabilities are beyond the needs of typical users. This shareware software is Total Commander (TC), written by Christian Ghisler in Switzerland. I already owned this software, or I could have downloaded it from Ghisler's site.Port connections: I had installed TC on each computer. (1) On the computer to be treated as the server, I use the TC menu commands Net > Port connection to other PC > Server. (2) On the client computer, I use the commands Net > Port connection to other PC > Client. As a result, the client computer displays the client computer folders in one panel and the server computer folders in the other panel.(If I will be away from the computers, I may end the port connection on the server.)Out of sequence: The only problem occurs if I start the client session before the server session. If the connection will not begin, I close both port sessions, eject and unplug the cable from both computers, wait several seconds, plug the cable back into both computers, and restart both port sessions or sometimes both TC sessions.Synchronize: I can select files, typically by using the space bar (not the mouse, which makes it too easy to de-select files by accident). Much of the time, I use Commands > Synchronize Directories. I cannot edit file contents on the server, from the client; I only can copy or delete.File comments: Descript.ion comment files are not synchronized unless I temporarily stop the association between Descript.ion files and the files and folders described: Configuration > Options > Operation > uncheck Copy comments with files.Speeds: If the files being transferred are huge and the computers are doing little other processing, transfer rates sometimes exceed 100 megabytes/second. If many small files are transferred, then the speed will be much slower; this may result in part from the underlying FTP protocol and passing of information about each file. Of course, if either computer is doing something else at the same time, such as a virus scan, then the transfer speed can be much slower.Summary: If you are a power user, you can bypass the Cable Matters software and have a quite satisfactory USB link between two PCs. If you are not patient enough to become moderately familiar with a different piece of software intended for power users, and are not willing to use the concise but accurate help (F1) in TC, then the solution I have outlined is not appropriate for your needs.
