J-BASKET Dried Somen Noodles, 28.21-Ounce

Senior who uses these noodles for spaghetti and stir fries. Delicious ,VERY easy to prepare and my digestive system seems to agree with them😃☮

Took me back over 35 years to my days in Japan. A favorite snack in the summertime.

I had placed an emegency order of these, as every Asian supermarkert around me had decided to be sold out when I was craving some (summer is the season for soumen, after all).Shipping time was quick and they came right on time. The noodles smelled great, tasted great, and were refreshing and cool to eat on a humid, 88°F/31°C day.The problem lies with the shipping method a.k.a. the container used for shipping. The bag of noodles was thrown into one white bag, which was then placed into a brown shipping bag, which the warehouse then treated it like a sack of potatoes. It arrived with packaging tape wrapped around it, a sign of "great" things to be found once opened. A quick feel over the white bag was enough to confirm it: these noodles were shaken and thrown worse than a near black out drunk person falling down a flight of stairs. Peeling the white bag away visually confirmed the damaged goods. The once long noodles had been reduced to stubs no taller than my own height (where are all my short people at).I still got and still will get enjoyment out of these noodles. Please find me the person with enough money to throw away an entire bag of noodles and give them my number. From reading other reviews, this seems to be a common issue that can be solved by shipping them in a more sturdy container, like a box. Boxes are far easier to reuse and recycle as well. This review could've been an easy 5 stars if it weren't for the massacre of the noodles.

I bought this to use as the noodle for east asian soups and dishes, glad I did as the taste is terrific and different from italian pasta noodles. I started making different soup and noodle dishes after watch a few prime cooking shows that feature Japanese food at first i figured it just go ahead and use very thin capellini pasta from Delverde, its a very good pasta for italian food. Well after making a few dishes that tasted okay, but not Japanese i figured I would up my dish with some somen noodles. I am very please with the results as they made a big difference in my dish the noodles have a fine taste that is delicate and light and very pleasing with only a few toppings mixed together. Great noodle and currently a wonderful price on S and S.

Tastes good with Asian dishes.

Can’t find this in the stores anymore unless I go to an Asian market. Sometimes that’s not always accessible. I am happy to have found this item online for a great price!

I debated between 4 and 5 stars... the noodles are great, thin, and easy/ quick to cook - but many of the banded portions came broken. I don't think that is the products fault (nor the seller), more of an Amazon shipping issue, but that is the only reason I settled on 4 stars.The product is great, minus the breakage. Would still order again for the convenience.
