Great compact solution for any pedal board - when assembled carefully
I really had my doubts about this cable system, given its ultra-compact form factor and low price. It just seemed too good to be true. Well, my entire pedal board (14 powered pedals and a passive volume pedal on a board made for 8) is now connected with this system only, and 10+ weeks later, including overnights in a freezing van and many setups and breakdowns, the connections are still strong and whisper quiet. There are, however, TWO VERY IMPORTANT things to keep in mind during assembly:1. The cable must be FULLY INSERTED into the plug. The friction of the cable does not noticeably increase as it engages the pin contact, which can make it difficult to judge if the cable is fully engaged.. My first cable was intermittent and it took several tries to get it right. Keep twisting with firm pressure until you're ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN that the cable has completely bottomed out.2. Tighten the set screw SLOWLY and CAREFULLY. Do not rush, and KEEP PRESSURE on the cable to keep it fully inserted throughout. The screwdriver provided works OK, but you can use any good-fitting screwdriver of your own. By taking your time, you will bottom out gracefully and create solid contact without slipping.Every cable I've made as described above has worked perfectly from the get go, and I believe yours will as well.FYI: After some experimentation, I'm now using exclusively right-angle configurations, even for those connections which previously used straight plugs. I've found that the right-angle connection is more robust mechanically, and still small enough to fit in spaces that previously use straight plugs. Your results may vary, but I'd recommend trying the right-angle configuration first.

First time using this system and I’m impressed
This made it super easy to customize my pedalboard. Everything works well.

Incredible Deal
I cannot say enough good things about these cables. I was looking for bulk cable to properly set up my Pt3 with uniform, custom length cables because I was tired of having 50 different types of cables and none of them being the right size. So I wanted to splurge and spend the hundreds of dollars on other name brand kids. But then enters the current electric kit. For the price it was too tempting to not try them, so I did. While I will agree with other reviews that the instructions were a little lack luster, I just followed my intuition and knowledge of how other cables worked and had almost no issues. I did have two out of 40 plugs that I think the holes were misaligned becasue the screws wouldn't go in all the way but at this point I have long since forgotten about that BECAUSE. I have not had a single cable fail on me for over a year of full time traveling across the country. I even flew with some and not one of them has broken. I have had to buy a couple generic guitar store patch cables since then (emergency wanting to add a new pedal and not having extras of these) and in that year all of those generic cables (and even some from more reputable names) have failed and NOT ONE of the Kurrent cables did.I have already recommended them to friends and I will definitely be buying more of them.

I bought More and am telling friends
works well...i am liking the stuff..it replaced all my other pedal board cables with it and i now have very low noise yet i now have a higher output now. so i either had some cable loss prior even with a buffered output but it seems this stuff carries more signal. lots more high end and high mids exist now than prior. i like the ends, these replaced Lava and george l's and very simple to use! but yes the tiny screw can piss you off at times but i had zero problems and 100% cable builds on the 1st try...not one issue... I am tweaking my touring rig as these cables and ends made a noticeable difference for volume and tone and noise......all at a reasonable cost. good job Kurrent!

Good connections, Mini-Sized Plugs, Incomplete instructions
I ordered two sets of these solderless connectors as I have quite a few pedals to connect in my studio board. I have an 8 Channel switcher so with send and return for each pedal, that alone required 16 cables to be made. In my rig there are also 2 trigger cables, 2 inputs / 2 output, 4 send and return loops, Looper Input and Output, and many pedals that are not connected to the switcher (Always On Drive, Wah, 2 Volume pedals, expression pedal, and the Stomp-To-Use pedals i.e: Phaser, Flanger, Distortion, Fuzz, Compressor, etc). So needless to say, I built a lot of cut to size cables for this rig.I love these connectors for their small size and tight connections. I bought a spool of Mogami 2319 to use with these connectors and I found out that the Mogami 2319 cable is a millimetre or two too large to slip into the cable channel of these connectors. What a pain! That was most likely my own fault though as I did not compare the Mogami product's dimensions to these connectors. So I had to shave off a few millimetres of the outer sleeve on both ends of each cable to make them fit into the channel. So keep that in mind if you plan to use a spool of cable, check the diameters of both products first!I would have loved to give this product 5 stars, as I am happy with the quality of these connectors, the tone of my rig sounds better that ever now with exact-length cables between each connection, and these really cleaned up the installation and organization of all my cabling. However, and the reason for the subtraction of 1 star is:The instructions are incomplete. I found that they were lacking one important detail and design flaw. In order to get a clean connection and working cable you have to make two connections on each cable end.1) The first is the center "core" of the cable which is the audio signal. It MUST be centered perfectly down inside the connector as there is a tiny pin at the bottom that must pierce the core of the cable for your audio signal. I recommend inserting your cable as far as you can and then give it a few twists. Then, pull the bale out and look at the end of the cable to make sure the pin pierced the exact center of the core. Reinsert the cable and twist it again.2) The screw holding the cap to the connector also provides your signal ground. This is the part that was missing from the instructions. It is VERY important that the screw for the cap pierces the outer sleeve of the cable and contacts the ground ring under the sleeve. This would be obvious and would not be a problem except for the fact the the screws provided to secure the cap onto the connector and provide the ground are not pointed, they are flat ended screws, so many times the screw will not penetrate the outer sleeve of the cable and thus do not provide the ground for the signal. After many headaches taking cables apart and snipping off ends to start over, I found that inserting a small awl (you could also use a small nail or tack) into the screw hole to pierce the outer sleeve before attaching the end cap worked 9 out of 10 times. So, in short;Pro: Good connectors, perfect mini size, good tone (if built correctly), feel solid (no problems or dead cables as of yet after building correctly), cleaned up installation immenselyCons: Incomplete instructions, not as simple as the instructions suggest, until you've realized the problem. Should have just changed to the correct length, pointed cap screws and building would be simple. Have to include an additional step to insure good connections.Hope this info helps someone out there building a pedal board using these, or similar style connectors. I would recommend them, my board is now organized, sounds great, and is almost bomb proof, plug and play ready.
