Outstanding subwoofer
The Q Acoustics Q B 12 subwoofer is a stellar addition to any audio setup. With "subtlety" and "integration" at its core, this product truly stands out. Having already invested in the Q Acoustics 3050i Home Cinema Plus, which came with the Q 3060S subwoofer, I sought to enhance the bass depth. Naturally, the Q B 12 was my top choice.Though my lounge is compact, and I'm conscious of not overwhelming my neighbors, I rarely need to push my sound system (powered by a Denon X6400 in a 5.2.4 setup) beyond 50% of its maximum volume. Impressively, the Q B 12 blends seamlessly with my existing Q Acoustic speakers, handling bass output and the LFE channel without producing any distracting “double bass” effects. The bass augmentation is truly exceptional, melding with other speakers to avoid any unnecessary “booming” or distortions. Some enthusiasts have observed heightened performance from their surround speakers with the QB12 taking charge. While I lean towards agreeing, a bit more experimentation on my part is warranted. The Q B 12's output is nuanced and balanced, adjusting effortlessly based on the demands of the soundtrack. For music enthusiasts, I set my subwoofers to LFE + main during a two-channel stereo output. The SB 12, once again, showcases its adeptness by adding depth to any music genre. It manages its output beautifully, ensuring the genuine richness of the track shines through.Bear in mind, the Q B 12 is sizable, necessitating ample space. I've opted for the carbon black finish across all my speakers, which exudes a sophisticated aesthetic. If you're willing to invest both financially and in the fine-tuning process, and have the space to accommodate, the Q B 12 is undoubtedly a wise acquisition

Not Crashing bass and thundering walls but tuneful bass extension to an audio system. BRILLIANT
I damaged my Mission subwoofer of 15 years. When in use watching a film everything shook. Just as well we have no connected neighbours. But music was a bass mess. But we only used it for action films.I came upon Q B12 by chance. Its won a few awards and Amazon had it an attractive price with 30 days free return.I took 5 mins to install where the Mission once stood. Same cables everything. Its very good with music, its suggested that you adjust the volume till you just about hear it when the front speakers are in use. Then down a touch. Films are a different experience. But one thing is for sure. Its not going back..

Truly surprising
I’ve had two Wharfedale SPC12 subwoofers in my home theatre setup for years and really liked their solid delivery. A lightning strike on the overhead power lines sadly killed them both and I looked to What HiFi for replacements. I bought these two subs on that recommendation, but was surprised at the difference in delivery, these are so much tighter and deliver more sub bass and less bass: I had to totally recalibrate my system. These most definitely are very refined, hifi subwoofers that whilst they can deliver massive punch, also deliver subtle sub bass to gently back up your main speakers. Very impressed, What HiFi were spot on.

Awsome... once broken in correctly
I was apprehensive about this subwoofer, although I have q acoustics 3020i fronts and love them but this is the first large size sub by Q acoustics and only 220w and my previous BK sub was 300w. Firstly the build quality is fantastic and matches the finish of my speakers, no nonsense controls and tidy hide away cables. Only thing I dislike is unlike the q acoustics speakers the front grille isnt removable mainly want that for cleaning purposes. When I first installed and powered on the sub I wanted to break in but on 30% gain with 80hz crossover couldnt even hear it, that much so the pioneer amp calibration software couldnt pick it up! I though great buy....not. However I think amplifiers in subs need a few hours to charge capacitors and for the sub to start flexing it muscles. After left on music for 2hrs I then slowly increased to 60% gain and it sprung to life and could be configured by amp software. A few days in and this sub is now awsome and can really push out some bass and worth at this price point of the what hifi 5 star review. For the price this is an excellent forward firing sub IF you give it time and break in for a few hours

Wonderful Q uality.
These people at Q definitely don't disappoint! I originally bought the cheapest speakers, which are really good. I had a small - about half the size of this - sub, which at about the same price was admirably capable, but always worked very hard. This one doesn't work very hard, and produces great bass, and has enough control to blend in - with a gurt kick! The newer surround speakers (3020i) are also comparatively awesome. For a modern open plan home, with a well set-up array of speakers, this speaker definitely gets you where it's needed.

Superb Sub Bass
I bought this on the strength of online reviews, not something I would normally do without listening first, I held back on commenting, until the speaker had properly broken in, and I must say, I am not disappointed, blends in seamlessly with my KEF speakers, rich deep tone, no sudden "wham" and unlike some I have used, it did not take long to get the balance right, highly recommended and for the price out paces several for twice the money, if it has a down side, it is the size, its quite large, suits my room perfectly, but I can imagine it would not be as easy to accommodate for some people
