What variety are they? I am particularly interested in P. Scaber.

I believe these (at least the species I received from this seller) is the 'dairy cow' morph of the species Porcellio laevis. I have been raising a colony of these isopods for the past several months and I must contest Adam's identification of this species as P. scaber dalmatian morph. True, the dalmatian morph is of the species P. scaber. However, these isopods I received are highly prolific, smooth, large, fast, and have a shiny exoskeleton with consistent black and white spot coloration, which is consistent with the 'dairy cow' morph of the species Porcellio laevis. In contrast, the 'dalmation' morph of P. scaber has a more rough exoskeleton with less consistent white with black spots coloration (some dalmatians can be pure white or only have a couple spots, and overall have less black spots compared to diary cows), are smaller,  and have a relatively slower reproduction rate. After reading the reviews of this item, I am even more confident that these are diary cows and not dalmatians based on the buyers description's of the isopod's characteristics.  TLDR: What you will get are Porcellio laevis 'dairy cow' morph. They are quite easy to raise (probably easier than dalmatian P. scaber but I've never raised dalmatians before so can't say for sure) and thrive in even less than ideal conditions, making them great for those inexperienced with raising isopods like me.

Weird question but...it looks like they just stay in the pot with plants? Or do you have to contain them?

I can’t say I’m an expert. The isopods i keep are either in a closed container or in my bioactive vivariums, so they are all “contained”. But, I would suppose if you kept them in a potted plant they could crawl out through the drainage holes or up and over the pot, if the surface of the pot allows them to climb.

How often do i need to feed them?

In the wild, isopods live off of decayed plant matter. You can buy isopod soil in reptile stores and you wouldn’t have to ‘feed’ them at all. They do like veggie scraps (pesticide free) and grains. The most important thing about housing them is that they require moist soil. I believe it has something to do with keeping their breathing gills wet. You don’t want soggy soil- as long as they can dig down until they reach moist soil they will be fine. Just don’t let the substrate completely dry out. They like to hang out under pieces of bark lying on the soil.

Yes they can but it will depend greatly on your animal you're trying to feed them to.
