Our Maisie loves her new Maisy book!
The Maisy books are always so cute and fun. Our 5 year old received this book for Christmas and was thrilled! The little notes and cards and goodies in each envelope on each page are super cute additions and she squealed with delight as she pulled each new surprise out. We've gone back to it over and over and it will become a beloved holiday book in this household!

A Fun Christmas Story
Maisy is inviting all her friends to a Christmas Party, and they each reply with a special letter. Eddie sends Maisy a little calendar to count down the days until the party. Cyril sends her a recipe for gingerbread. Tallulah sends Maisy a star to put on her tree. Charley includes a joke book with his letter, and Maisy laughs and laughs at his jokes. Finally, it's the day of the party, and the friends have a good time together. This is such a special Christmas book, with pockets for each of the letters the friends send to Maisy. Inside each envelope/pocket is a letter and a different decoration, recipe, or tiny booklet.I'm 37 years old, and I had fun reaching into the pocket and bringing out the goodies from each of Maisy's friends. I was enthralled with each little discovery and the cute letters. I mean, if an adult thinks it's entertaining, you can imagine how much fun a child would have with this book!I love the simple illustrations and bright colors! There are lots of sweet details in the background of each page as we see the friends baking Christmas cookies, decorating their tree, building a snowman, or playing games. The quality of the book itself is excellent. The pages are thick and glossy, and the binding is sturdy to withstand little hands.I can't wait to read this with my little nieces!Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book for free from the publisher in exchange for a free and honest review. Fun Surprises!
What’s more fun than a party? Receiving the answers to the invitations! At least it is in this case since you can join Maisy as she opens the replies from party guests. That is because this book is special, with six built-in envelopes that contain replies, plus some extras, that can be removed. Each time a reply envelope is found, be ready for laughter and squeals when they discover what is inside. This fun Christmas book is very interactive, hard-backed, and full of brightly-colored illustrations. Besides being a fun story, there are teachable moments about replying to invitations, along with what an address looks like on an envelope. This 5-star book is adorable, and is a great way for children to experience some Christmas excitement. It will be enjoyed by pre-school to early grade school children, especially ones who like having something that involves them in the story!Candlewick Press has provided bookreadingtic with a complimentary copy of, Maisy’s Christmas Party, for the purpose of review. It's Time for a Christmas Party
In MAISY’S CHRISTMAS PARTY, Maisy is having a Christmas party and invites all of her friends. Each of the people she sends an invitation to responds. The guests arrive for the party and they all have fun. What makes MAISY’S CHRISTMAS PARTY unique from other books is that it is a fun book; meaning that it has more to it than just a story. In this book, the reply envelopes from each of Maisy’s friends are included. They include such things as cards, small gifts, decorations, and a gingerbread recipe. In addition, Maisy includes a special letter just for the reader! The Maisy books are usually pretty straight-forward and are good at introducing new places, events, celebrations, etc. to young readers. MAISY’S CHRISTMAS PARTY is a bit different because it includes so many “gifts” for readers.

Cute story with some fun interactive elements.
As a mail connoisseur this kind of book brings me an admittedly childlike pleasure. Maisy invites her friends to a Christmas party. As each friend replies, a letter is presented to the reader in a pocket along with a little surprise. The book contains Cousins' typical bright colors and simple lines along with a card that can be personalized makes for a fun Christmas read aloud while offering some fun activities for family time as well.
