Is this from grass fed cows? And why does it say “repackaged” on the back of the package? I’d like the seller/company to answer, not another buyer...t

Feed records are not kept so I can not say. I the milk does come from a dairy cooperative where they do not use rBst. We get the dried milk powder in 50 lb bags and repackage it at our facility in Columbus Oh.

How does the bag say to store this? Can I keep it on a shelf? What is the shelf life?

My bag says store in a cool, dry place. I just keep it inside a cupboard. I bought mine in September 2019 and it says best by 12/22/2020. Each bag will be different but I'm assuming the shelf life would be similar.

What happens if I don't use warm water to make this? I want to use it for camping recipes and may not have warm water available.

I make with hot water and still have to really shake to get lumps out. I've never made with cold but wouldn't recommend. I camp as well, could you not make a camp fire and heat some water?

How many qts. will the 2.5 lb bag make?

It's hard to say because the proportions listed on the package aren't consistent. The package recommends 1/4 to 1/3 cup powder to 1 cup (warm) water, which roughly translates to about 2 - 3 avoirdupois ounces per cup of water, so if 4 cups = 1 qt, then roughly 8 to 12 ounces per quart. Thus, a 2.5 lb (40 oz) bag would make ~ 5 quarts whole milk liquid. I could be wrong, not having a scale to weigh the powdered milk, but that's the way I figure it.
