I didn't expect these to last very long, but I read up on crucibles, used the preventative and pre-use measures the industry experts advise and I was mildly satisfied. I have three different sizes of these and have used all three for a total of about 16 firings. The one most used has probably got 4-5 more firings left in it if I am careful. Still learning how to use them efficiently, but the most used crucible I pre treated with borax at a higher temp. that what I am using it for and it seems the (glazing effect?) of the borax (sealed the pores?) of the crucible making it easier to pour the molten metal. Like I said, I'm still learning but if there is a downside to these it seems that the upper part of the crucible loses heat extremely fast just before a pour making the molten metal solidify quickly. Other than the tall shape of these crucibles I believe I can overcome the solidifying issue with a little more experimentation. For the money, quality and quick shipping I believe, so far, that these are well worth the price paid.

As others have noted, mine only held up for 5 melts before it disintegrated. Carbon gets into the silver. No good, I do not recommend.
