This is the best introductory book to Cardiothoracic Critical Care currently available on the market: I strongly recommend it to Critical Care Fellows and Residents working in CTICU for the first time.Easy to read, written in short chapters, and well referenced, it covers all the major topics you need to know in order to be able to function well in CTICU.My wishes for the next edition: broader coverage of mechanical circulatory support devices (with dedicated chapters to ECMO and VADs including common problems encountered and troubleshooting pearls) and a more detailed discussion of postoperative complications of specific cardiac and thoracic surgeries.All in all, an excellent book!
