Good sound quality and does not pinch me around the waist.
Even though I've been hitting the gym for over twenty years, I can't say that I have a ton of experience with different types of dip belts. But I have used about three or four different ones provided at fitness clubs and I have to say that this one is the best I've used. The ones I've used in the past (provided at health clubs) have all had "70lb MAX!" which is obviously not acceptable for those of us who require more weight. My guess is the smaller, lighter chains would probably fail at some point. Thus, possibly resulting in serious injury. The Spud Dip Belt with Chain has the thickest and heaviest chain I've ever seen/used. You can tell right off the bat that this dipping belt is made very well and can handle some heavy duty lifting. It also has a looser flexibility overall from the chain to the actual yellow webbing. Most other dipping belts I've used are super stiff and even the chains on them seem to sort of kink up and are annoying to work with. The clips on the Spud Dip Belt are a bit on the larger side than what I've dealt with in the past which, in my opinion, makes them easier to open. At first I thought they weren't going to fit inside the center hole of Olympic style plates but thankfully I was wrong. They fit and work very well. The yellow webbing is soft around your waist and doesn't pinch you like some of the stiffer belts made of leather or synthetic materials. At this point I only use it for adding seventy pounds (to my 225lb frame) for dips and pull ups. However, I am confident I can go up in weight without a problem.Since the chain is a bit on the longer side I found myself having to control the swaying that resulted from momentum accrued while doing dips. But this wasn't a huge problem as I was able to bring my knees together and help stabilize the plates from moving back and forth. Obviously this won't be a problem if you load four 45lb plates (which is the 180lb max for this belt) which shortens up the chain while in use.Overall, I can't find anything negative to say about Spud Dipping Belt. The fluorescent yellow color, albeit hideously obnoxious, is probably a good choice to prevent people and their "sticky fingers" from walking away with it. From reviews that I've read left by other reviewers for other dipping belts in the $25 range (and the complaints/dissatisfaction regarding chain failure/etc.) I figured it was a smart choice to invest in a bit more money for a quality product that will stand the test of time. Although my purchase is quite recent, I believe I found such a product.

Heavy duty and comfortable, but it came with only one clip.
This is the most comfortable, heaviest-duty dip belt that I have ever owned or used. I would have given it five stars if it hadn't come with only one clip, which is kind of problematic for a dip belt whose name is "Spud Dip Belt with Chain and 2 Clips for Weightlifting and Strength Training." Unfortunately, I could not figure out a way to communicate about the missing clip with Amazon, and I wasn't going to return the belt because it was missing a clip that you can buy in a hardware or home improvement store. And besides, I had some extra clips from other exercise equipment that I own. So I have been able to use the Spud Dip Belt, and I am really impressed. It is super comfortable, and seems to be really well made. I expect it'll last forever. Some reviewers have complained that the chain can be uncomfortable with heavy weights, but that's not my experience. I have used the belt with a 45 pound plate, as well as with multiple plates. It works great.

Good build quality. Fit and feel is outstanding.
I have used leather belts in the past but most of those are very stiff and can pinch around the edges. They also seem to distribute heavier weight unevenly as the leather belt doesn't conform to your body shape. This solves that. It is flexible out of the bag and really fits your body well. It is comfortable when on to the point you don't notice it. Build wise it seems very heavy duty with good material and stitching. A little more expensive then the leather ones, but not by much and if you are getting this piece of equipment anyways, you likely value weighted dips/pull ups and are OK with spending a bit more on a better (IMO) type of belt.

Excellent tool for weighted dips, pull-ups, hip squats and more...
The Spud Dip Belt is proving to be both durable and well constructed. Its comfortable to wear and has plenty of chain length with which to work. I don't believe you'll be disappointed, I'm certainly not.

Good make. Terrible in practicality.
Good quality and construction. Terrible ergonomics. I have a 34” waist and the rings sit right in my groin and pinch and dig in. When the chain moves around they cut your shorts and can bruise and cause cuts. If the nylon was 4-6” longer it would be perfect but as it is, it’s not useful for me at all.

Does the job
Back in 2005/2006, I’d purchased and used a Grizzly Leather Pro dip belt and I loved that belt. I owned it until 2015 and then I sold it when I decided gaining muscle was too costly on the grocery bills. Fast forward to 2021 when I can more easily afford buying the groceries needed for gaining muscle and now I miss my Grizzly belt.I researched options available, first by reading articles to discover recommended belts and then by turning to the forums to let me know what the users really thought of those recommended belts. For me, it came down to the Spud belt and one other belt. I don’t remember what the other one was off the top of my head, but I do remember that it wasn’t Grizzly. This belt is made up of the loading strap, the two rings at each end of the loading strap, the chain, and the two clips at the ends of the chain. There are two ways of wearing this belt with plates attached (plates are the only type of weight I have attached). One way is to fasten the clips to each of their own rings on the loading strap. I find that when I do it that way, the loading strap tends to want to slide down me. The other method is to push one clip through its ring along with the chain following it and then fasten that clip to the same ring that the other clip resides at. This provides the snugness that I need to keep the belt from sliding down my body. When adding the weight to the belt, I have to kneel down to the level of where the plates are at to be able to easily fasten the clip to the loading strap ring. When I stand up with the loaded belt, I have to adjust where it sits against my lower back until I find a spot that feels the most comfortable to me. I have not yet found an effective routine of taking the belt off between sets and then putting it back on, but I’ll eventually figure it out.
