Nice Compact Bag
The bag is small. I fit a 14” laptop, 13” iPad, and some AirPods Max in mine and it’s basically full. Along with a variety of small things like chargers and calculators in the exterior pockets. The water bottle holders can accommodate pretty large containers, though I would stop at a 24 ounce bottle to keep things secure. The build quality is fabulous. It feels solid and like it will never fall apart. The pads are sleek but comfortable and breathable. I also like that it includes a rain cover in the bottom of the bag, hidden away in case I’m hit with hard precipitation. It’s definitely a premium option considering the price. But I was fed up with having to buy a new bag every few years, and I think that all ends with this product.

A great buy!
When I first got the bag I was hesitant to keep it and had already let Amazon know I was going to return it. I decided to use it for a few days and fell in love with the bag. My main concern was that it was too small for using as my work backpack. Turns out it’s just right for my needs! Yes it’s smaller but I don’t carry much to have a larger backpack for work use. I specifically had chosen this bag because of its size and it’s just the right size for me. It’s really comfortable on my back and I love the material. I definitely get compliments about the bag ant yes it’s a bit pricey but totally worth it and was a major upgrade for me. I really enjoy the magnetic flap. It’s my go to pocket! I highly recommend this bag to anyone looking for a smaller backpack for work or daily use.

Very good quality, possibly a bigger bag would fit me better
I've been using Timbuk2 bags since 2011, the bag came in excellent shape as usual, very nice looking and visibly reflective as promised.I commute by public transportation and am a software developer so I carry a 14 inch mac and sometimes also a 13 inch mac, both macs fit in even together, in the slot for the laptop. The case for the Sony headphones is possibly a bit to bulky for the bag, but it fits, with the glasses, woman purse, small pouch for creams. I put the power blocks in the front pockets. So, everything fits, but I probably should have taken the bigger Parker, because if I have both laptops + gym clothes the bag is at its max.I may get rid of the magnetic straps, since I rarely use them and they often click together so you put the bag on your shoulder and then realize you need to brake it off.

Great little pack
I’ve been using Timbuk2 bags pretty much exclusively since 2004.This is a great day pack if you’re looking for something sort of small and light. It’s not going to fit very much in it and the front pockets aren’t huge. This is what I was looking for in this particular model. These bags aren’t cheap but they last and they’re comfortable and can withstand harsh weather.

Great versatile Edc bag bag that puts bloat in check
True, not a huge bag, but that’s actually the appeal to me. This thing doesn’t need more L, we need less. ;) Seriously though, a laptop, book or two, and digital essentials all fit fine. The appeal of this bag is that it’s compact, and works well for an Edc or light travel. One thing that helped me: add some shimoda straps to the front and you can add a jacket, use as roller bag attachment, etc. The bag looks great, is unique, feels very durable, and is very comfortable on the back. Bottom pocket can be used for additional storage if you don’t need the raincoat regularly. I tried out a bunch of bags for primary edc and travel-functional, this is the winner.

I'm with some others - too small, otherwise great
Bought this as a work backpack. I really want to keep this bag, but it's just too small. Nice look and very comfortable and great for a few things, but i needs to be ~4L bigger. Really like the overall look and feel of the bag but you can't fit much beyond a laptop, some notebooks and a few small items. Also, when it is pretty full, the outside pockets (particularly the middle flap) are hard to get items in/out of.

Disappointed by the Discrepancy and Limited Capacity
I recently purchased the TIMBUK2 Lane Commuter Laptop backpack with high hopes, but unfortunately, my experience fell short of expectations. One major issue I encountered was that the actual product I received looked nothing like the photo displayed on Amazon. This mismatch left me feeling quite disappointed right from the start. One of the reasons I was drawn to this backpack was the inclusion of the "San Francisco" writing, as it added a touch of identity and uniqueness to the design. However, to my dismay, the backpack I received did not feature this element at all. This oversight made me question the accuracy of the product representation on the listing.Another drawback of the TIMBUK2 Lane Commuter Laptop backpack is its limited capacity. While it claims to be suitable for both gym and work days, I found it to be on the smaller side for my needs. It struggled to accommodate all the essentials I typically carry for a gym session and a day at the office. It would have been more useful if it offered a bit more room for storage.Despite these disappointments, I must acknowledge a few positive aspects of the backpack. The build quality and materials used were satisfactory, and the overall construction felt sturdy and durable. The laptop compartment provided adequate protection, which is crucial for a commuter backpack. In conclusion, my experience with the TIMBUK2 Lane Commuter Laptop backpack was far from ideal. The discrepancy between the advertised photo and the actual product, along with its limited capacity, left me dissatisfied. While the build quality and laptop compartment were decent, these factors alone were not enough to compensate for the overall letdown. I would caution potential buyers to consider these drawbacks before making a purchase decision.
