Q: I didn't get any software to install and I am unable to get any other video software to work with device. Any Suggestions?

No special software should be needed as it’s just converting the hdmi output of the camera to the UVC format standard to act as a webcam. With that, any video chat or streaming software should recognize the signal as a regular webcam. You could use Skype, Teams, Zoom, OBS etc.. But, for me the copy of this unit that I received did not pass the signal. It only got extremely hot to the point that I was genuinely concerned that it may catch fire or melt other cables nearby. I know other copies of this type of capture card have worked for people (and there are many copies of this exact model) but I ended up getting a different, and admittedly more expensive, type and it works as described with no issues and no special software required.

Q: Captured video from dvd player hdmi at first, then stopped. still works with gana upscaler but not any dvd players. any idea why it stopped working?

The only thing I can think of is scrambling security measure like the ones they used to put on DVD's (and probably still do). It keeps a recording device from being able to process the video. Is this what is happening to you?

Q: Does this also come with a usb-c adapter? One of the reviewers said it does.

I seem to recall it was around 2'. Since it did not fit the connector on my camera, I had to gt a different cable anyway.

Affordable and reliable

It does the job, a cheaper and reliable alternative to the camlink products. There might be an audio sync issue which can be rectified in obs by offsetting. Done 3 hours continuous streaming and no issues. I recommend it.Updated review after 9 months...It's still works fine no issues at all. Forgot to mention that I've tested and used on a 2017 MacBook pro. Haven't tried on a windows platform yet.
