STAR BRITE Salt Off Applicator - Salt Remover Wash & Marine Engine Flush (094100)

This gadget is awesome for using to clean saltwater off of my pontoon boat after being on the water. I have read reviews about it being cheaply made and breaks easy. I have been using it for over a year with no problems. I don't drop it on the ground or abuse it, so maybe that helps to keep it from breaking. It is perfect for spraying saltwater cleaning solution on my boat and saves me a lot of time by not having to apply it by hand. I highly recommend and will definitely purchase again if the one I have ever stops working for some reason.

I have 2 boats, and this product works great for flushing the outboard engines and rinsing boat.

easy to use

Bought this to attach to hose and wash down my outboard and boat. Somewhat surprised at the rate that it depleted the Salt Away. Not upset, just surprised it didn't last longer. No obvious way to adjust consumption rate

Arrived quickly and was exactly as described

There is an O-ring to keep the canister from leaking the product. There is nothing to hold the O-ring in and it’s easily lost. This is a win-win for the manufacturer because you have to buy a new device because they do not sell a replacement O-ring. Also, product is wasted from the leaking canister causing you have to buy the product sooner than later.The blue valve knob at the top of the canister that allows the product to be mix or fresh water only, is difficult to turn. With the canister removed, I added a couple drops of 3 in 1 oil to the under side of the valve assembly around the yellow valve piece. Once I rotated the blue know a few times to work the oil into the valve assembly, it turned much easier.

I have used this flush "SALT OFF " by Starbrite for years it is my third unit they do a good job as my Suzuki mechanic said . But to no avail as this 150 motor has the thin wall block issue and even though the warranty had 2 years left they refused to honor it ! But the flush unit did its job as the engine was clean in the interior .The only issue I have with this China made El cheapo plastic item is while the thing works fine the cup in which the fluid is dispensed does not ,even if you rinse and dry it , It seems the Salt Off fluid eats it up and it cracks . I see that they are available as a part which I will try ,
