Splits Pills Perfectly
Perfect, compact pill splitter! Simple design, cuts pills cleanly in half with very little effort. Easy to align the pill, including oval-shaped pills, and those without a pre-molded score line. Very happy. Glad I spent a little more (not too much) for this particular product.

Best pill cutter I’ve found
I recently switched my dog to the compounded version of Pimobendan, in an effort to try and save a little $. The new pills are tiny, just barely 5mm. , and my regular clam style pill splitter wasn’t doing a very good job. Decided to give this one a try, and it’s working out much better. I have to really take my time, and apply even pressure when I press down to cut the pill, but it’s worth the effort. Sometimes I still end up with a few crumbs, but I just use a pill pocket to pick them up. The name brand pills were quite a bit bigger, and even though they were flavored, I still had a hard time getting my dog to chew them up. Now he’s happy to get his tiny 1/2 pill treat twice a day! Also, because theses pills are so tiny, I can cut the pill pocket into 4ths, which also saves money.

Good pill cutter
Had to cut 90 of my mothers pills and worked good. Does work better for bigger pills, but I was able to cut small ones with it also. Has stayed sharp and easy to do, just takes time.

The only one with a straight down cutting motion
I am going to repeat another verified purchaser's comments: "This device does a better job of cutting pills than any other device I've tried. That said, it is a cheaply constructed over-priced plastic piece of junk. But it is a remarkably effective piece of junk." All this is true. Over-priced. Cheaply made. But IT WORKS because of the top and bottom blades and the straight down cutting motion so the pill does not slip out of place as with traditional pill cutters.

Well thought out and good quality. Less crumbs.
Review items: EQUADOSE Pill Splitter with Precision Aluminum BladesEQUADOSE Pill Cutter V2I purchase these more than two months ago.I purchased both of these sister products from Equadose because I wanted to compare them. My pill are expensive (and important), so I wanted the best pill splitter I could find. I think reviewing these two together is wothwhile. Both styles work a bit better than the supermarket/pharmacy, typical pill splitter I used previously. In particular they both make less crumbs.I am splitting a smallish, flat ovoid pill that just fits in the Equadose Pill Cutter V2 stablilzing gripper at its tightest setting. I am pretty sure that different types of pills have varying densities and hardness, so crumb production can vary accordingly. Both of the Equadose pill splitter models work very well.My experience is that the Equadose Pill Splitter (the hinging model) hardly makes any crumbs. The V2 model did better with crumbs than my old pill cutter, but not as good as the hinging model.Regarding splitting my smallish, ovoid pills exactly in half, it is difficult to get an exact split with any pill splitter. Sometimes the alignment in the splitter is not as perfect as thought, and sometimes the pills simply shear imperfectly. It appears that all pill splitters do not "cut" the pills, but rather sort of crack them.Having said that, I prefer both Equadose splitter models to my previous splitter for accurate splitting. Both require fiddling (and good lighting) to optimize the alignment (as did my previous splitter). I think it is easier to get optimal split proportions with the Equadose Pill Splitter than with the V2 because with the former you can see exactly where the pincers are touching the pill. Still, it is a bit of a learning process. As mentioned by others, when splitting pills that have a fat side and a thinner side, in the Equadose Pill Splitter it is best to stand the pill on its thin side in the bite of the pincers so that the pincers are already as close together as possible.I am very satisfied with both Equadose models and am keeping them both. They are both well thought out products of good quality.

Most accurate and easy pill cutter!
This is the one!!!! I tried three other pill cutters for my really small pills that didn't work. I was left with very noticeably uneven halves, or much of the pill, crushed to powder. This one is absolutely perfect. The price is great because of the blades on top and bottom. It's plastic but who cares. Does it cut my pills evenly every time. 1000%

Accurate dosing.
Love this pill splitter! I have to cut 1 medication into quarters. It isn’t very big to start with. The drug store splitter turned it into pieces and powder, but this Amazon splitter cuts it nicely into halves and the halves into quarters. It does not have a guard so be careful. Great to have accurate dosing with this.

Cuts well, but arduous process
Cuts quite well, but arduous process. Cutting a pill in half works, clean cut. But I need to cut certain pills in quarters: to cut that pill in half yet again is very difficult. You need nimble fingers to position the half cut pill. I'll keep this cutter because of the accurate cuts. There are several steps needed to place, cut and extract the pill.
