I used to be able to install a new flap every year+. I noticed over the last year or two I've had to buy and install new ones every few months. The magnets don't seem to hold & withstand winds like they used to and the doors bow in after only a few weeks or so, leaving gaps. I just installed this last one 2 months ago and it's already bowed in!! Many mornings I've found the flap ajar, caused by the wind, allowing the cold air (AND SNOW!) to blow inside while the heater's running! I'm very disappointed!!

My old dog door flap cracked, so I re-ordered this one. It fit great except on really cold days. It seems to shrink and doesn’t close very well. It seems to fit much better on warmer days for some reason lol it also seems to be just a little bit too long and so I have to wiggle it to lock it into the magnet. It works as intended. I just have to finagle it some days.

Bought original panel at Lowe’s and this saved me a trip for the replacement flap 👍Just unscrew the screws and insert new flap-does help if one person can hold it in place while other lines up the screws

fits perfectly on our door, speedy delivery. was a little difficult to replace, but not impossible. Only difficulty is that you kind of need two people to replace it so one can screw in the replacement door, and the other person can hold the anchor for the screw from the inside. it's not impossible to do it on your own, but much easier with two people. otherwise installation was really straightforward.

If our Basenji isn't sitting half-in, half-out watching squirrels, he's hitting this at a full gallop either inbound or outbound. Doesn't last forever (we're on our third) but is surprisingly durable and does a good job keeping the weather outdoors.

It has been a couple of weeks since we replaced the original flap. So far it has been okay. I have 2 large dogs who go out doors with a bang. Sounds like they are tearing the door up. 😆 but the flap is still in good shape. I tried a cheaper version but it didn’t make it a week before my cat tore it up. I can’t see any marks on this from his claws.

I really like having a doggy door, it makes my life easier not having to let her out all the time. However, the flap is rather flimsy and is constantly flying open when the wind blows. So I added another one and it was somewhat helpful. I finally built the door telescopic and added a 3rd flap. I was looking on the website for a magnetic strip to add but didn't see one on their website.

Perfect alternative to replacing the entire door. But it does take 2 people to install.

Given that you can only buy a Stayguard replacement flap to fit the Dog Flap frame then this product is OK, but has a limited life and requires replacement this is the second that we have had to buy over the last 5 years due to wear on the fitting holes due to our dog going in and out several times each day. And so a more durable flap fitting method could be redesigned, but as there is seemingly no competition then, therefore, there is no requirement for Staywell to do so.

This is the 3rd time I have renewed the flap in over 10 yrs. so well supported product. Over the years, though, the mounting screws have become more and more difficult to undo cos of rust. It would be very useful if the screws where included with the flap. Otherwise a really good product.

Easy to install gave the door a new lease of life. Hold shut better as it’s straight and magnet therefore connects better. Great door and easy to replace the flap when needed. We have had 3 dogs since we had the door and 1 lived to over 17 and his brother 15 so it had a lot of wear. Only had 4 replacements in over 20 years.

I have had this dog door on my back door for over 15 years and only had to replace the flaps twice. That may sound a lot but when you have 3 dogs (terriers and collie's) charging in and out everyday, or just standing sticking their head through to look out into the garden without going out and getting wet.. lol it's been a brilliant investment and def keeps the heat in the house as I don't have to leave the back door open for them. The flap is rubber-like and great quality, would def recommend to anyone putting in a dog hatch.

Really happy with the replacement dog flap. I was very excited to not feel the cold in my kitchen anymore , but getting up the next morning to greet the dogs! The b@!”()#*d dog had eaten it again. He did cry a lot while chasing him with my river magnet around the garden. I will be purchasing another one and buying bitter apple spray this time round. Thank you
