Very good ant aquarium. I got two of these.

The media could not be loaded. This ant farmis easy to put together on day two the ants are making tunnels. My son is eight and says it's five stars. I can watch these ants all day. I bought two but only put one together will attach the second one later today I ordered the ants from Amazon some came dead and as you could see, there's plenty alive no queen tho . They r big it's fun to see them digging and carrying around chunk of sand. Fun for kids and adult adults. Would definitely get it for kids into animals and bugs and outdoors

This was my first attempt at starting an ant farm. After doing research online and figuring out the best way to start I went with two of these models set up side by side. As a trial run I grabbed a few worker ants from a mound outside. No queen.I would have given 5 stars but I bumped it down one for a few minor reasons.1) The base had a very slight crack on one corner. Still worked fine. Didn't impeded integrity, doesn't leak, and ants can't escape.2) The instructions for setup weren't super clear. Through trial and error I found out the ants cant climb the vertical tubes very well. I filled them up with dirt from outside and they went right to work tunneling through it and using it regularly3) The holes on the bottom of the feeding area are too big. Many of the smaller ants escaped after the first day or so. I taped a piece of paper to the bottom to keep them from escaping and it seems to be working just fine.Overall very happy with the farm and have been really enjoying observing their behavior.

We originally bought the blue gel but after a few weeks of trying to help the harvester ants tunnel (which they did a little) we got the one with the sand and connected the two together. They love tunneling in the sand waaaay better than the gel. The ants are still digging in the gel but a majority of them have tunneled into the sand (within 24 hours).A little tip to get the tubes in when you're in a hurry because you don't want the ants to crawl out, cut a small piece off the tube at an angle and it goes in way easier.Our family loves watching the little guys work!

It’s ok I think the work area is to small there no way to open the top to rehydrate the sand, the ants will definitely just walk out , I think the nest and food area is poorly designed it just needs to be larger there’s to much sand for how little the ant farm is, good for kids I guess , not really good for anything serious

My first ever ant farm and I can't tell you how much better this was than I expected. It was unbelievably easy to assemble and took me less that 5 minutes to completely build it. One thing I would say is most of the time the ants do not use the features of the ant farm the way they are intended to, but don't stop them! Let them do their own thing and improvise to their changes they make (in mine the initial "feeding area" was turned to a nest by the ants). Another life changing tip is DO NOT GET RID OF ANTS IF THEY ARE MOTIONLESS AFTER SHIPMENT! Instead, place them into the ant farm and within a day they will be up and moving as they needed time to recover from their long journey. After the ants have recovered you will have started to see significant changes in your colony and farm hourly! For a small and cheap product, this got me addicted to watching these little creatures and the antsseemed to really love it as well. Overall PHENOMENAL product👍!

My wife purchased this set for our 11-year old. We were so excited to start because we love the youtube channel "Ant Canada." However, she said that this was the only type of ant that came with the set. Last Sunday night, my son opened the case and was stung by the red harvester ants inside. He was in intense pain for the rest of the night and had to sleep with a cup of ice water next to his bed so that he could numb the finger beyond the medical steps that we took.We love the set, but wish that there were a way to get a more innocuous breed of ant included.
