Works perfectly, only request would be more detailed status like similar Victron MPPT units.

Victron makes great stuff. But the Orion chargers lacks these features that are found on their SmartSolar MPPT chargers:VE Smart NetworkingVE Direct port (and ability to connect to system monitors like Cerbo GX)Current measurement (no shunt, voltage control only)4th charging stage - equalizationTemperature compensationTail current cutoff setpoints (because no shunt)History of chargingInput/Output graphs of Voltage/Amperage/WattsFor comparison this Orion 24|12-30 costs about the same as a SmartSolar 100|50 which has all of those features and 20 amp higher output current!I'm comparing the two devices because they have a very similar core function (buck converter for DC voltage decrease, current increase).You're really not supposed to use a SmartSolar MPPT for Battery-Battery charging. The main reason being that under certain error circumstances it shorts the input. Ok when the input is solar panels, not good when the input is a battery. The SmartSolar also doesn't have an isolation option, the negatives are tied together.The Orion is specifically designed for battery input. It also has a key feature that the SmartSolar does not: low voltage cutoff on the input. It's configurable so you can set the depth of discharge on the input side to keep power in reserve for a starting battery, and to avoid cycling batteries too deeply. You can also use it to only turn on charging when the engine is running.The ultimate DC-DC solution would be a SmartSolar MPPT Charger, with a Smart BatteryProtect and a fuse on the input side. Unfortunately Victron doesn't support that or make a device that has all of those features!

The unit is not new. It has been installed before and shows scrape marks. The webpage did not state this as a refurbished unit. And this calls itself the Victron Energy Store and seems to be legitimately associated with Victron Energy company? I am very disappointed specially when you have to pay as New

This item was shipped in plastic bad and manufacturer packaging. The box was broken open. The item appears to be in good condition, howeverithas a burnt electricalsmellto it. I did not use it and it was returned. I will install it and see if it works. The only other issue/complaint is shipping, it would be better to ship in a box inorder to protect the item better.

Luckily Amazon return was efficient and offered to send a new unit immediately.
