Good Stand-Alone Water Bottle for a Syrian Hamster
If you need a stand-alone water bottle for an glass aquarium cage for a hamster, this is a good one. My hamster is a chewy little beast who chews on pretty much anything he can get his little chompers on, but he has not conquered this water bottle. It's very sturdy plastic with an adjustable wing-nut in the back of the unit that holds the water bottle shelf in place. The water bottle is relatively small, 80 ml or about 2.7 fluid ounces. It's also very stable and safe, easy to clean. My little monster uses it as a ladder to reach the top of his cage, and as far as I can tell, there are no safety hazards with respect to wires or ways to hurt himself. Just the right size for a Syrian hamster. The great thing about this water bottle is that it doesn't take up a lot of room, and it is height adjustable.Keep in mind that the spout should be checked every day to make sure that water is flowing. I tap the end a few times until I see air bubbles releasing in the bottle. The flow can be adjusted by loosening or tightening the metal end of the spout. I keep it fully tightened, and I have not noticed any problems when my full-grown Syrian drinks from it. If you unscrew the end of the spout and look inside, you will see a small plastic tube that runs from the twist-on cap to the metal spout. The stopper ball sits freely in the metal end and blocks the flow of water when it's not being used. I did notice that the ball retracts a little bit when my hammy is drinking, so smaller rodents (dwarf hams & mice) may have trouble unblocking the stopper ball. I have not had any leakage issues.

Good price value and great bottle
The media could not be loaded. Works like described, way better than our old water bottle. It doesn't leak and looks soo good. Fits extremely well in out enclosure. Overall I wish I bought it sooner :)

Perfect for gerbs!
I have ADHD and often forget to clean my gerbils water bottle. Buying one with less water capacity helps me ensure I clean it on a regular basis. The wood feels like sturdy quality, my gerbils haven't chewed it as far as I can tell. It'll last for a while. The height of the water bottle is adjustable, which is a must for me.

very cute, seems sturdy enough to not tip over on my little hamster
i shopped around for a few of these. i saw a cactus and log ceramic water holder, but the bases on those were very slender and seemed like my hamster could easily knock them over. but this base is sturdy and big. as for the water bottle, it's not water tight if you hold it upside down, but as it's meant to be upright, that won't be an issue. importantly, there are no drips or leaks with this bottle!!

Warning: Do not use
This was a terrible purchase, and I really adore Niteangel products. Often, people complain that the balls get stuck after they have been sitting for a while, and honestly, that's the nature of water bottles. My problem with this product is that it doesn't release water well. My hamster tried using it but gave up because it's difficult to get water out. I even tried taking one of the small steel balls out to see if that made a difference, and it didn't. She now refuses to use it, and I ended up throwing it away. This is the first Niteangel product I've ever disliked and not recommended. Disappointed in that I wasted my money.

Looks Great, Works Well—But Give It a Little Tap-Tap Sometimes
This water bottle stand looks super clean in our hamster’s setup, and it definitely adds a touch of style compared to the ones that hang awkwardly off a wire cage. The adjustable height is a nice bonus, especially since we have a mix of older and younger pets using it. That said, the little metal ball in the nozzle occasionally gets stuck, so we’ve had to give it a gentle tap to get the water flowing again—nothing major, but something to keep in mind. Our hamster doesn’t seem to mind, though; he just stares at us like we’re the problem. Overall, a solid 4 out of 5 stars for function and design—just keep your tapping finger ready.

works for my baby skunk who won't lap water.
My baby skunk refuses to lap water for some reason... I've had skunks before that never had that issue so I've been trying to come up with ideas to get her to drink water. Eventually, she will roam the house... but since she's so tiny right now, she has a portable pop-up crate. There's no bar...it has mesh on the side so there's nowhere to hold a normal pet water bottle... It was my dad's idea to see if they make standalone water bottles and that's how I came across this one. It's very sturdy since it's made out of wood, it was extremely easy to set up, (it took me two minutes) and she actually drank out of it!!!!!! I love how you can adjust the height. That was the main selling point for me. I know it's not made for skunks, but it's working pretty well for her! I put some double-siidedadhesive tape on the bottom of it so she can't knock it over because she wants to stand up and lean on it. I'm hoping that works. If it doesn't, I will have my dad come up with another way to keep it sturdy for her...as it is not made for skunks who want to stand up and put their weight on it! I'm extremely grateful because I can sleep at night knowing that she's drinking water!

Gets Stuck Often - Hamster Can’t Drink From It
It’s sturdy and easy to adjust and looks nice. Our issue is that the ball bearing gets stuck frequently - at least once a week or so - which is a major issue. It’s dislodged with just a finger press or two, but our poor little hamster can’t drink out of it when it gets like that and she becomes dehydrated if we aren’t vigilant. We were hoping after some breaking in this problem would resolve but it’s been a couple months and it is not improved. We’re looking for alternatives/solutions.Still giving it 3 stars for the fact that it’s otherwise good quality and if you don’t mind the hassle of checking it every day to make sure it’s flowing, then it’s fine.
