Wahl Professional Animal Pet, Dog, and Cat Ultimate Nail Grinder Trimming Kit (5973)

I bought this one month after purchasing a Drumel that turned out to be an expensive waste of money. The Drumel brand product did not work as the replacement files did not fit correctly onto the filing attachment. And forget their customer service as I requested assistance and received a Non-reply to my e-mail. Frustrated, unsure of what to get next, as I needed a product that would work longer than a month, I purchased a WHAL. Upon set-up, I had difficulty (set-up instructions are not very good, just call the provided customer service number, and they will get you set-up and running), so I needed to contact the listed customer service help number provided within the included instructional set-up literature within the carrying case. To my surprise, I was extremely pleased with my contact to their customer service. The woman went "above and beyond" to assure my complete satisfaction with set-up and use of the product; as well, she was amazingly helpful, kind, proficient and a willing customer service rep. Upon speaking to the rep and her willingness to assure my positive experience with set-up and use of my new WHAL, I will NOT USE ANY OTHER BRAND OFFERED AGAIN for trimming my dog's nails. Yes, their customer service is seriously that GREAT! In addition, after using the Wahl product for over a month, I have already used it often, on two dogs (my large German Shepherd, plus my small, Terrier mix); I must say, I have no complaints on the ease of use, the effectiveness or customer service that this product offers. Also, I like the rate of speed as it can be adjusted while trimming their nails to a speed that is slower or anywhere in-between to faster. My dogs are unable to tolerate the same speed, thus I have to adjust the speed for each. The machine is easy to hold, use, replace attachment parts/sanding papers, and is light-weight enough to use for an extended period of time.

Oh. My. Goodness. Where has this product been my entire life. I have two dogs, both fairly large. An 80lb rottweiler/husky mix, and a 50lb pit/lab mix. Let me start by saying the larger dog HATES when I do her nails. It gets to the point where I get annoyed and give up every time I start. So her nails had gotten pretty bad. I try about once every two weeks to go back and fix it, but I end up giving up before I finish because the cordless Dremel I've used for the last few years just doesn't do the trick, regardless of the fact it's supposed to be the top of the line product for nail grinders.It got so bad that I finally took to amazon to try a new product. After a bit of research, I decided to go with a corded product this time around hoping the power was enough for my dogs' thick nails. This was delivered today and I am beyond pleased. In thirty minutes I was able to do both dogs' nails. The power held up perfectly; the speed of the grinder was just right, and it worked flawlessly to stop the incessant click-clack as they walk across my hardwood floor.I mean I know it's only been one use, but I definitely recommend this product. Will update review if anything changes.

Love this product’s performance and ease of use. We have a Vizsla and used it to trim his nails about every 2-3 weeks. The reason we marked this as is 1 Star is because we purchased this product in May 2020 and the motor stopped working in August 2020. We’ve tried every option to troubleshoot without luck. They do not accept returns after 30 days. We haven’t even made it through one of the sandpaper attachments. I hope we are the exception on this product. Very disappointed overall.

Great unit with a lot of power behind it. Has variable speed dial. Cut my medium sized pit bull dogs nails in just minutes. Only drawback is how cheap the plug cord is. It is REALLY thin and cheap.Fixing the cheap, chinsy cord would make this unit feel more robust and make it a solid 5 star item. As it sits this is a solid 4 star item. Will recommend.

The 1st one came without the small attachments and had a funny noise - it was returned. The 2nd one is quiet and runs smoothly. All the attachments were included. The sand paper grinding sleeves don't fit as snug as they should so they don't stay in place. They are are pretty useless for grinding the nails. The plug that goes into the wall socket is large and cumbersome. Not great to add an extension cord to. Overall pretty disappointed. Somewhat wasted my money on this unit.

Amazing and perfect nail grinder for my big dog. Plugging it in straight to the wall is incredibly convenient and thankfully, no batteries!!! And the power is much better than other grinders. Just be careful when using it, there is no nail guard. Simple and perfect!

I am a professional dog groomer and purchased this because I was tired of having to charge my nail grinder everyday. This worked great with regular use for about 3 months before I started making strange noises and would occasionally not turn on. Now 4 months in it's completely stopped working. This is the second Wahl product that has failed less than a year after purchase.
