What is this windmill made of -- plastic, metal ???

It is made of plastic and the top broke the first day we had it. I won't buy another one until they make some changes.

No, plastic. Metal would have lasted longer.

Does it follow wind direction?

No or at least it does not in the areas that I have used it which was for a display of an area. I do not know if it would outside with wind but it is only about a foot tall. It is not intended for actual use.

Got this for my son for his birthday. Cute and has lots of parts. The gate and fence are plastic so be careful with putting together as it can break at those points with too much force. Otherwise works great
