So hard to.find this secret spice. We live in between 4 huge serious Asian supermarkets; none carry it !Seek out a dish using this spice ... Not at Panda Express .... are small family run places in every town...Your taste buds will be amazed.Then pick up a jar here & wow your friends.... Very gentle heat and oddly fruity.

If youre unaccustomed to cooking with real Szechuan pepper there’s a bit of a learning curve, but a little googling and they are an unmatchable, wonderful spice cabinet addition.I do not recommend you eat them like cracked peppercorns! These are not actual peppercorns, but are the small seedpods of a tree.Steeped and strained, tied in cheese cloth for easy removal from cooked soups, stews and sauces or, best, grind what you need to a powder in a spice grinder and the flavor is highly aromatic, almost a savory perfume. The hook is that they are not so much a “hot” pepper as one that literally tingles on the tongue. Steamed dumpling and pot sticker dipping sauces made with a bit of powdered pepper are incredible!

Must-Have for My Chili Oil Sauce!
I add Szechuan pepper every time I make chili oil, and it brings the perfect kick and authentic flavor. It adds that signature numbing heat I love! This has become a staple in my kitchen — I never make chili oil without it.

Very nice, flavorful and pungent Szechuan Peppercorns
These are great!, They're flavorful, and pungent.I always wondered what Szechuan Peppercorns tasted like, and watching the cooking channels on YouTube, they always describe it as a “Tingling, Slightly Numbing Sensation".After finally getting to taste these in a soup, they're right, it's a tingling, and slightly numbing sensation, like having Menthol, Eucalyptus, or Vick's VAP-o-Rub in your mouth.I DON'T MEAN THAT IN A BAD WAY, that's just the closest accurate description of it I can muster.I like it, and will use more in other dishes.

Excellent taste, not very many seeds to clean out. Will buy again. I store an open container in the freezer and hope that will extend the freshness.

TRY IT! YOU'LL LOVE IT!
Excellent tangy flavors! Most people associate these with HOT Cayenne-types, but the heat level is near zero ..... just a tingle to the tongue and palate. Delightful on eggs and all veggies.

Great Addition to Any Spice Cabinet
If you haven't tried Szechuan peppercorns, you are missing out. I love having these as another type of seasoning to use in our cooking endeavors. And, I would say the flavor is more complex than spicy.
