Actual Herbs de Provence
This is the Herbs de Provence you need. Ducros Herbs de Provence is what everyone buys in France and it's excellent. American Herbs de Provence blends have practically nothing to do with Herbs de Provence, especially those that have lavender or anise. These two ingredients may be Provençal, but they are used for soap and pastis aperitif, respectively, not for grilled lamb or roast chicken. They absolutely ruin it. I lived in France for 20 years, including 12 along the Mediterranean, and I asked people numerous times about lavender in it and they burst out laughingThis restaurant size is key too. Lasts forever, but use plenty all the time. I received this one from Amazon a few weeks ago and it's correct. It's labeled for restaurant usage in Portugal, but who cares, LOL. A must-have in any kitchen.Typical uses:1 Grilled meats (including fish) and vegetables -- mix with olive oil, coarse sea salt, crushed, freshly ground pepper, and crushed garlic. Brush on.2 Chicken in your dutch oven. Brown and add a quartered onion to caramelize too, along with coarse sea salt, pepper, and unpeeled garlic cloves. Continue with olives, some tomatoes, peppers, etc... if you feel like it.3 Grilled duck magret or filet with coarse sea salt Grill fast on fat, seasoned side but remove 5-6 times to let fat burn off and allow the meat to rest. Duck breast needs to cook slowly or it will be tough. When almost cooked to medium rare, return to finish on meat side. Serve with garlicky pan-fried potatoes and some dijon on the side.4 Serve with good Côte du Rhone or Languedoc red wines

Life is about flavor.. and this is wonderful!
What could be more authentic than food service quality Herbes de Provence from France? The packer is McCormick (yes the American favorite) Flavor Solutions of Portugal and shipped from Portugal, but clearly marked ‘made and packed in France.’ My 185g bottle has an expiry of 04.07.24. I’m very happy with the flavor
