40 year TOOL & DIE maker this is a quality product. It takes a little practice to figure out how to use it but once you do it's a breeze I'll never go back to doing it buy hand. And would I buy it again NO. This will last a lifetime I'll be handing it down to my son it's that nice.He's going to have to wait a long time.

The product is easy to use but you can make a lot better hay wire twist by hand. There is supposed to be a thumb screw to lock down one end. Mine came with an Alan head screw that was clearly cross threaded so now that part doesnt work right. Just saying there are a lot better products on the market.

It doesn't work well on the lighter wire (#3 and #4) that is used in my area for king mackerel. It doesn't make an even twist of the barrel and the wrap at the end of the barrel is very difficult to keep even without overlapping. You can make the stinger hooks, but you can't add the stinger hooks to the main line because of the way it twists the lines. You have to manually twist the connection between the stinger hook and the main line.

Seems to require a lot of practice to get good at using this. The process for making the loop is hard and almost never works for me. Making the haywire twist works most of the time but again, is not as simple as the videos i've seen on this. Good quality product but a bit expensive for what it is.

Item was scratched up, rusty and full of dust the box didn’t have any sort of protection or packaging to stop the unit from shaking around in transport either, and it looks as if the shiney metal parts also started to develop some scale or build up on it I assume from it being used previously.May be worth just buying straight from the website instead of second or third party sellers on Amazon.All in all unit appears to still be functional just not the best quality from here.
