Best replacement for my F250 Sync 3 head unit
ABSOLUTELY AWESOME. This was so worth the price. The quality is surprising and honestly I’m relieved. My 2018 F250 had the sync module go out and there is still no fix for this. Do to it being a 3rd party provider that actually makes it and not Ford the warranty you have doesn’t cover it unless you purchase the platinum level extended warranty from a Ford dealership. Which is a couple thousand dollars. Then essentially they are just replace the part that is going to break again it’s just a matter of how long till it does. this awesome linkswell head unit is beyond worth it to me it looks amazing. The best part is the head unit doesn’t use that sync 3 module and I still have all the same features as when I got the truck so i literally sacrificed nothing. I was originally look at the Tesla still head unit but it uses the sync 3 so I didn’t want to risk it. Especially for the price. I found this on Amazon had no idea it exhausted and figured what do I have to lose at this point I was already driving with not working head unit or features for 3 months. So we got it and installed our selves. ( we have no electrical or car experience) so literally anyone with minimal education can install these which is a amazing and affordable option for the average joe. I could almost call it the Peoples head unit. But In all seriousness so glad we made the purchase I would never go back to anything with Sync3 Period as there is no found fix for the module issues.

Laggy and car play connection issues
This is cool, yes. Is installation easy, no, I had to visit numerous install videos to figure this out with my 2018 F150.Sometime the device wont recognize my iPhone 12 Pro.

Totally cool stereo
After lots of research on this and comparable units of this size I decided on the linkswell T style . Install was a breeze but I did read others having troubles with the back up camera not working . Mine to didn't work but I found a way around it and now have it working on demand instead of when I put truck in reverse .

Buy it for looks, not for function
I purchased this after doing a lot of research, reading reviews and checking other Tesla style alternatives. I landed on this unit for the OEM factory appearance and ability to easily interface with my 2019 F-150. Here are my pro-con opinions.Cons: The unit comes with zero installation instructions (which I was aware of) but they should include comprehensive instructions. It’s not cheap. You can’t call Linkswell directly for help as they will refer you back to the vendors you bought it from.If you want to turn the volume down quickly, it takes time to break habits as I always reach for the volume wheel. Now I use the touchscreen or the steering wheel controls. Navigation only works after syncing with your phone…typically not a big deal but it took anywhere from 3-10 minutes to sync. I had problems with the system randomly controlling my climate control settings which was extremely annoying. The code to get into programming side of the unit is code protected, and they don’t give you the code (1660) which they should because there are custom items you need in there.Pros: it fits like a glove and looks OEM.It’s not too difficult to install, but there are some goofy differences between some trucks. This means some harnesses do one thing…while other harnesses have several things plugged into them. You can download a user manual from Linkswell…but the install pics aren’t very helpful.I reached out for help through Amazon for help, and from the vendor directly. I got a ton of incredible help. I had help via email and we shared pics etc, and I had help using FaceTime to work through the issues. This kind of help is unheard of and resolved all my issues. There are YouTube videos that people have posted which are helpful. The touchscreen is beautiful and works great. There are tons of custom features to set it up to your liking.Advice: Have it professionally installed if you can. Let someone else worry about the plugs.Tape up your dash, center console, gear selector etc. Without taking some steps to cover these things up, you could potentially scratch your dash.Buy electrical tape and zip ties. Keep things clear behind your dash. And prevent items like RCA jacks from becoming disconnected. You will need to keep the red secure tabs from your OEM radio and pop them off and add them to the new Linkswell otherwise the radio won’t stay flush in your dash. You will be running a new GPS antenna. Make sure you get it on the dash (like the OEM one). I ran mine to the far left side of the dash, under the grab handle, under the dash, and to the stereo. You won’t use your USB’s like before. They actually give you more. I ran mine to the glove box.Factory code for custom setup is 1660Sadly, after running this system for almost 3 months, I had too many glitches and issues and returned it. I miss the look of this in my truck but I’m glad I went back to OEM.

Looks great! Medium difficulty to install
Really looks great, but installation a challenge; no real instructions. The wiring harnesses are the challenge. But, I figured it out and this thing rocks. Tho, I did lose the Sirius XM but I can use the App with this.

Know what you’re buying before complaining!
The media could not be loaded. Overall impressed and knew what to expect after doing extensive research on this product. KNOW THE FLAWS BEFORE COMPLAINING. I have a 2018 Ford f159 xlt for reference.First off there is literally nooooo video on YouTube or anywhere for the gen 4 install. The wires are slightly different from the gen 2 so just watch that video I found on YouTube and used process of elimination for the others I didn’t need.Screen takes about 30 seconds to start up once you turn the car on. Like turning your phone on.Quality is great and touchscreen is accurateI saw a review saying their original usb plug didn’t work for the car play but it comes with 3 extra usb attachments you can link through your glove box or open part of dash and it works just fine. CarPlay works for navigation text call music etcBluetooth doesn’t always connect on its own which is sort of annoying but overall not a huge issue.Cons:The only cons I have are that you have to use hotspot to use the navigation and internet etc. for $1100 it should come with its own hotspot/WiFi service. The sound... it’s a tad off even though I messed with the equalizer I can’t get it to sound great but it works. There is a slight static noise when the music is off or low.(I also added my own shimmer vinyl as pictured)
