First Aid for the Medicine Clerkship, Fourth Edition

The amount of typos and misinformation for such a large production resource is unfathomable. Missing numbers on important values, incorrect "greater than" (>) when it supposed to be "less than" (<), and this is just the tip of the iceberg. If you are not on your toes and know the correct information from other sources - this book can lead you astray. I find myself double checking things that don't pass the sniff test, and 95% of the time they are indeed errors.I love the FA Step 1 book and used it as my primary source of information. While it isn't perfect, it's way better than the FA Fourth Edition Med Clerkship. This edition is crap, I haven't seen the older editions, but this edition needs many hours of overhaul to fix the multitude of errors. I don't know who was in charge of final signoff on this book for publication, but they need to be looking for work elsewhere.IF you really feel like you know your stuff, then I would recommend this resource as a great way to keep you on your toes. IF you want a resource to be the definitive go to or gold standard for IM Clerkship Shelf Exam review this is NOT it.

Honestly, I was disappointed with this First Aid book. I am a huge First Aid fan, especially the Step 1 and Step 2 books. However, this subject book for Medicine is not worth the money. It is not organized very well, and I feel like I was always looking up things online anyways when I was trying to use the book as a study resource. I would not recommend relying on this book as a solid study tool for a Medicine shelf.

You don’t need this book! Stick to the Step2 first aid. It has more detail that’s required for shelf.The typos are incredibly distracting and makes you seriously question the quality.
