VESP ENERGY Charcoal Briquettes 3kg for Barbecue/Grill/TANDOOR with Fire Starter Cube for Ignition

The media could not be loaded. I have used these quite a few times now, so I thought I would give a detailed review of this product. For review purposes, I have categories them into several subsections.Fire Starter :Free fire works like a charm and give Hussle free ignitionHeat:It is pretty hot and it lasts for about 4 hr. You can easily cook 6-8 Kg of chicken on one go depending on your stove size. When compared, this seems to heat up pretty quickly, and it's much hotter. If there is moderate wind it seems to catch fire, Helps a lot while cooking...Odor:There is no odor when u burn the charcoal, nor does the odor from smoke feel irritating, usually when u burn other charcoals it smells really strong but I didn't feel anything like that with this one.Smoke:It does emit smoke but it's manageable, however, I would like to point out that smoke is much less than what normal charcoals emit. if you are in a good enough open space, it wouldn't be an issue at all.Flavor:It does add flavor to the food, it's a lite smoky flavor like you would expect. I like moderate flavor when I cook, what I did was I closed the lid of the BBQ stove and it seems to have solved my issue. I don't like it when the chicken has a strong smoky smell. When u BBQ the chicken u usually think it would be dry, but I felt it to be rather juicy, I did add oil occasionally.Residue:The best thing about it is, that the amount of ash, once u have completely used up, is way less than the normal charcoal and it's easy to clean.Re-usability:It is reusable, once I'm done with the cooking, I kept them inside my BBQ stove with all air vents closed. The next time I barbecued, I used these along with the new pieces. The reusable once do often crack, sometimes they fall to the ashtray below.Indoor/Outdoor usability.BBQ is meant to used outdoors, all charcoals emit carbon monoxide so I would never recommend it to be used indoors. Since I live in an apartment I usually BBQ in my balcony.Overview:I would say that this is great charcoal for BBQ and is much easier to use. Having a started kit would make your BBQ setup much faster but it's not a must. Overall I would definitely recommend these for BBQ

Not so easy to turn on.... you need to put in the stove to make it burn or it will take to much time and when burns, burns to fast... not really good for BBQ. I would prefer wood coal but looks like is not a kind of material available in India so. this is ok....

This product is simply USELESS. It ruins your plans by simply not burning AT ALL. We had guests and this simply did not work. We had to fall back on multiple pans and gas stoves to cook our veggies and meat.There is a packet of waxy stuff which does catch fire. However, the actual briquettes simply does not catch fire. We had a bon fire with wood burning on the side. I put some of the pieces into that fire. Believe it or not, even then it did not burn. After about one hour, i noticed that it was burning and red.IN SHORT. DO NOT buy this unless you want a ruined barbeque.

Pros, the duration of the charcoal is good.Cons, the starter cubes were not included as mentioned in description.Packaging was very bad, it came in a carton box and it's not easy to restore.

Difficult to get it going initially. Please take a bunch of these straight to the gas stove for 5 mins then you add it to the grill and add other blocks and keep blowing. But once you get it going it went on going for 6 hours of grilling in delhi cold. Kudos

It's only useful for one time occasion. The coal is of very good quality and it comes with a camphor for ignition. Lasts long. Very good product.

It came in a slightly torn box .We bought this to use on a grill but when we tried lighting the coal it wouldn’t light. We tried for two hours but it didn’t light. Overall I’d say it’s not worth it
