This is the second car hauler i've purchased. the gate ramp does not snap and hold. is this normal or a defect? this is for both that i ordered.

Just checked my grandson's truck. The top ramp slides down and back up again. I does not 'hold' while in the up position unless the lower ramp or door is closed. That lower ramp, when folded up, holds the top ramp in place. The lower ramp sort of snaps into the truck. I will say, however, it isn't a very 'tight' locking mechanism but it does hold the top ramp in. Hope this helps.

Are Green Toys fair trade certified?

I don’t believe that “fair trade certified” applies to toys. It’s a term usually used for food (like coffee and chocolate). Green toys are made from recycled #2 plastics and made in the US. They’re very nice toys. Do the truck and trailor separate?

Yes, the trailer does separate from the truck body. My 3 year old Grandson loves playing with the truck and trailer.

Are there any small parts that a 1 year old could choke on?

No. My son got it when he was 12 months old. While he was a little young for the ramp gate, the trailer separates from the cab and he was able to play with the cab and cars until he was ready to reconnect the trailer.
