Great product for the price
Excellent product, however it says that it fits 3 people, but it won't be comfortable since it isn't that wide. Other than that it resisted a really heavy raining and did a great job protecting against wind and mosquitos. Extra points for having two entries. Great product for the price.

If You Only Read One Review, Read This One!
HERE IS ALMOST EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THIS TENT! We accompanied our daughter's 4th grade class on her first backpacking trip last week. She was set to share a tent with a friend and the school offered mismatched garage sale tents as their only option - unless they provided their own. I wanted a good 3 person tent that would give them enough room to put their packs inside and sleep comfortably. Most important was the weight - they were only allowed to carry 1/3 of their body weight in their packs. For my daughter this meant a mere 17 lbs and her friend only 20 lbs, so a light tent was a MUST (and needless to say, I didn't want to spend $400 on a backpackers tent)! This tent, split between the two of them was only 2.2 lbs each (I carried the 15 oz footprint). I searched through Amazon for hours reading specs and reviews from real people and I kept coming back to this tent. We needed the tent here within 2 days so having an Amazon Prime membership meant I wouldn't have to pay a huge fee for expedited shipppng. I also bought the footprint that goes with this tent and I was so glad I did... it rained on us throughout our hike into the Los Padres National Forest and the ground was wet and muddy. The bugs were really bad too! This tent was a snap to put up and two ten year old girls did it in minutes. The tarp fit perfectly under each corner pole securing it and ensuring it wouldn't move, even with the girls going in and out of the tent constantly. The directions were simple to follow and had pictures for every step, unlike my extremely expensive Papa Hubba tent which required I go on YouTube to figure out how to secure the rainfly! The rainfly was great, attaching to the tent easily and it even came with a good amount of cord to tie it down and really durable stakes! Again, these stakes were easier to use and held up better than the expensive after market ones I bought from REI! 2 doors meant they could get cross ventilation during the day even with the rainfly, since each side rolled up easily and had 2 built in latches to secure it. As we sat in our $450 tent, with doors that were difficult to access with the rainfly in place, I was actually jealous of my daughter's $100 tent that could form a covered entryway by extending the door section of the rainfly out and propping it up with our hiking poles (or sticks would work)! There were handy pockets inside the tent for little things you needed to access easily and a place to hang their solar lantern from the center of the top (you just need a twist tie or carabiner). The zippers never stuck and they were pretty rough on them (since the bugs were terrible, it was a mad dash to open the tent and jump in and zip it up quickly before the critters came in with you). Even with the rainfly doors rolled up, there was a vestibule section on either side for dirty shoes or their entire packs - since 2 other girls who opted to use a school tent went to put it up only to find it was missing a pole and completely useless - so a third girl bunked in this tent the last night and the packs came out. It had plenty of room for 3 girls, their full sized pads and a bunch of stuff. It easily packs back into the little zippered bag (which has tie downs on it to cinch it down even further) and we even fit the footprint into the compact tent bag as well! THE ONLY NEGATIVE WE ENCOUNTERED: My daughter's friend's father was hanging out in the tent with her and he said he couldn't lay down flat unless he laid on a diagonal. He is about 6 feet tall. He loved the tent so much he was considering buying one but it was just a little too short. We are NOT tall people so that doesn't matter to us in the least, but if you are, you might want to consider this one point. The last qualification I'll add is that while we did set it up right after a rain (and there was water between the footprint and the tent which never came through the bottom at all) we didn't use the tent during an active rain storm. I doubt there would have been any problems, but if you're headed out camping in the rain and this concerns you, set it up first and hose it down to make sure.FOR THIS AMOUNT OF MONEY, YOU WILL NOT FIND A BETTER QUALITY TENT THAN THIS ONE - and even for more money you may still prefer this tent 😉

We are happy with our new tent! This was taken during set up, which was quick and easy.

Good design, basic features, light weight and reasonable price
Out of the box I am very happy with this tent. It is fairly lightweight, which is a good thing since I plan to take it backpacking with my wife (you can see it fully packed in the picture of my hiking pack, orange bag). Set up was quick and easy even with one person, and by going with a 3 person tent rather than a 2 both my wife and I will fit just fine with a decent amount of room left for our hiking packs and gear. This tent packs up very small and neat, and I am able to hang it off the back of my hiking pack just fine. The height is decent enough that you can crouch and move around inside, but I should note that I am 5ft 6 and laying down there is only a little extra length left from end to end. That being said, if you are taller than that you will probably have to lay at an angle or in a semi-fetal position to fit. Some nice features are the fact that it has entrances on 2 sides (only one side has the option for a covered awning area), and the fact that while it has no windows they did include two nifty pop-out air vents on either side for ventilation when needed. The inside of the outer cover for the tent is also covered in a silver semi-reflective material, which I assume is meant to help hold in heat. There is also a little hook for hanging things at the peak of the roof inside, and I purchase a little AAA battery powered led hanging light to go there, which I think will work out great. Just know that they worked to keep the weight low, so there are no additional features such as interior hanging pockets, etc. The design is very minimalistic. All of that being said, this tent looks to pretty good quality, especially for the price. Still, the material seems rather thin, which is to be expected given that light weight was the goal in the design, but I would definitely recommend that you purchase some kind of a base layer tarp to protect the bottom of the tent, as well as have some kind of tape, etc. to do emergency patching in the field just in case. I can't really speak to the durability and wind and water resistance of this tent yet, but I will update my review and post more pictures when we actually get a chance to take it out on the trail. Thanks guysUPDATE: For an in-depth review, check out my video review from my Youtube page, "Happily Ever Outdoors".[...]

Great tent for 2 people! Or one person and a dog !
Ok so have used for one overnight trip off the AT trail in Va. mid October 2019. Backpacked in. Nice weight for my pack for a “3 man tent”. Let me elaborate on that.... this is a comfortable 2 man tent for folks under say 5’10”. Anyone taller than that; not going to happen with another person in the tent with you. And definitely not happening with three people. If you all are short and extremely small, then 3 would fit with no gear inside. Shoulder to shoulder in sleeping bags for sure. A good tent for 3 children maybe. With 2 people was comfortable, but still kept our gear outside the tent under vestibule, as not really much room for large gear to keep inside with you. And there are no pockets for storage Inside either. This is all basic, to keep weight down. Which I liked. I never really have ever used the pockets anyway. There is a hook in the center top for a light, if you wish.Temps got down to about 48 at night. No condensation inside tent only inside vestibule area. It did not rain; so I cannot account for that. But always as with any tent you should seal the seams. There are no windows, but two vents. And it wasn’t really hot out; so I cannot attest for ventilation. But the rain fly comes off easily and exposes wonderful mesh sides and roof, if you want to leave off to allow for great ventilation when it is not going to rain. There are two doors on each side which is great when camping with another person.Set up: took less than 5 min to set up with one person. Easy easy. Two poles that clip in rather than insert through fabric which I like better. You can use the one door as an awning. Looks neat and maybe will use one day. But if you are planning on getting in and out of your tent, for an adult; this makes it a little more difficult, not impossible but difficult. You need to buy a tarp for the footprint. The bottom of the tent is very thin; keeping weight down again.Comes in a nice bag with a handle which I was able to get the tent back in after setup and take down. All in all great tent for $100. Weighing at just over 5#.Durability? We will see. For the price you cannot beat it. A great alternative to a much more expensive version if you need to save some $$$! Like me.I would recommend trying this tent out. Happy trails!
