I got hooked on sleeping with a fan on while I was in my late teens and I've been sleeping like that pretty much ever since. I work in broadcasting and a near lifetime of wearing headphones has (probably) contributed to my having tinnitus, which is quite the blessing to have (that should be read with sarcasm, BTW).As a result of that, I have a "hiss" which quite literally never leaves me. Trying to sleep in a very quiet environment is far more of a challenge because the sickening truth about tinnitus is that the more silent things are around you, the louder the "hiss" or "ringing" is in my ears and it becomes noticeably more pronounced. I find that without a fan or white noise machine, sleeping is difficult and made even worse by my crippling, life-long insomnia.I've had 2 different white noise makers in the past, but this one is quite a bit smaller, at least by 50% than those other ones, and I like that. It still delivers the sound that I need and can even do so much louder than its size would initially lead you to believe - another plus. It comes with instructions, but to be totally honest, the controls are pretty straightforward and I figured it out without opening them within a couple moments, so don't worry that it'll be too difficult to operate. I can't really comment on the other sounds that it can play because I use the "fan" sound and that's all I use, so keep that in mind.Long story short, great device, great price and even looks cool on my bedside table. I am very happy with mine.

Great for toddlers. The light at the bottom changes color, functions as a great night light. And there are so many sounds to choose from to make bed time comfortable. My 4 year old loves this. You can run it all night or set the timer for it to turn off automatically. Plugs into the wall. No need for batteries.

This machine is terrific! It takes up little room, but it can produce sounds like nobody's business! I love the waterfall and the gentle summer storm, but the ocean sounds are great, too! There are a LOT of different sounds, with something for everyone, and this little thing delivers!!

I like it overall.There’s a lot of noise selection, and can be used for meditation/relaxing not just as sleeping aid.There’s several different “lullabies” but I don’t have small children so that’s not really used to me.I decided to keep it, but I kinda regret not looking for a different one or just downloading an app.The white noises include a group of fan or “household” type noises. It has creaking Fire and Water etc sounds. Basic things.The drip drop noise as well as the hooting owl would probably give me anxiety instead of helping. LOL! DSL those are out.I mostly use the sounds of waves, or water. I wish the rain/thunder was better, cause that would prob be my go-to.That said, it operate easily, on/off button, selection forward/backward button, volume and light buttons.It plugs in the wall in the back of it. Comes with cord and adapter. It’s fairly compact so you could take it with you if you traveled.It looks nice, I bought the wood looking one, so it would look good in many rooms.Wish it had a small remote as well, but most of these sound machines do not.The light buttons can create relaxing atmosphere if needed.As I said, there’s nothing wrong with this machine and I like it okay. My sound selection preference would be different, so this limits me a little, that’s why pm not giving it 5 stars. I should’ve return it right away, but I ended up waiting too long to decide if I liked it or not.

This little sound machine travels everywhere with me. I have insomnia and can never shut my brain off. Every little noise keeps me awake so I have always had to have some type of noise, like a fan, running to drowns out noises. We recently sold out house and bought an rv. Trust me, you hear every little noise in an rv park, especially the vehicles near by. We didn't want to keep having to run the fans on the AC units, especially being winter time, so I did a lot of review shopping. The reviews on this pedicure didn't disappoint. The sound quality is amazingly very good. The volume goes up so high, even I have to turn it down some to sleep. It drowns out vehicles starting up or driving by, and car doors closing. Also works great for canceling out the noises of grandkids playing in the house, and even the TV or people talking in the next rooms. So all in all this little product has saved my sleep and my moodiness.

I originally saw (heard) this at my massage therapist's office. The wave sound is awesome. I had to have one. Now I listen to the waves gently crashing onto the beach every night and it puts me to sleep. I only wish it had a feature to play it longer than 4 hours.

There are a lot of products for sound machines to help people sleep or tinnitus.. I checked my history.. I bot it exactly one year ago today April 3. I chose this cuz it has wood fake finish .. but it actually looks like it cud be wood tho.. it looks better than plastic models. There are more effects than I use. I use the gentle rain, heavy rain, thunder storm, water stream, singing birds in nature, soft guitar, 3 different soft classical piano, air fan, and more.. there is also horse drawn carriage if you are old school.. it's been one year.. I use it all day long and every night.. it has sleep timers or use never off feature.. the night light is nice too. So for the price, value cannot be beat..
