This unit is not hard to set up, but you do need to do a reset because of previous ownership. Not a big deal. I think people return these units because they are wifi5 and not 6. Wifi5 works just fine for our house with 3 to 4 PC and 2 TV. The signal is good. I've got our TV on 5g and my oldest son runs on 5g as well. I like that it's dual band so we can run our appliances on 2.4g. So far no problems. Refurbished still runs like brand new, so this a good deal. Save some money.

No problem with set up. Worked right away. Only suggestion would be to give user more features in the mobile app like updating the firmware.

Save your money from cable companies and renting their equipment. I bought this to use for xfinity and it works great and saves me $15 a month on renting one.

It is very aggravating that Xfinity cannot connect this modem as it is an Amazon Renew and it’s still registered under the previous owner’s account .I have to return it .

This modem was an Amazon Refurb, so I wasn't sure what to expect. It arrived packed in the box just like I would expect to see with a new one. It works pretty well, but occasionally seems to have a slight delay both wired and wireless -- nothing to complain about, but it does not seems as smooth as the ancient Arris-Motorola Surfboard it replaced. It was also an Excellent Bargain!

According to description it was compatible with Xfinity. Well it wasn't, after 20 mins on app. and 30 minutes online with representative. Don't say compatible when it isn't.

I purchased this yesterday, it arrived today. It's already installed. There was a glitch, though, because this was an Amazon Renewed unit. Comcast got it online immediately but we were having difficulty seeing the router-modem combo providing network on my phone and laptop. Eventually, I called GadgetPlanet -- the Amazon seller I purchased it from -- and we did a factory reset of the hardware through a tiny hole on the back panel (top quarter)...and...VICTORY! My laptop and phone and smart TV are all receiving blazing new speed compared to my 8-year-old Arris router-modem which I have now retired to electronics recycling.The new Arris router-modem looks great, but more importantly, it works great.Also, there are four ethernet ports on back and one USB port on front. I will use the USB port to put a memory stick of music which I can access through my smart TV.

in spite of having a signal and being connected to the internet, webpages do not load. xfinity was called and they state everything looks fine on their end. i factory rest the device, looked at other ways to solve the problem, but no dice. the product works, but it's a hit or miss as to whether xfinity will be able to pull thru.
