Corporate Finance: Investment and Advisory Applications Paperback – December 10, 2017

This is probably the best book for students learning about corporate finance. It goes through all the important areas in financial theory and has lots of really good and up to date examples.The book does not assume that you are an expert in finance to begin with, describes all of the different roles available when working in corporate finance which is really useful for a person starting out their career in finance like me.The book clearly explains how managers make investment decisions, financing decisions and how they go about returning capital to their investors. It explains all of the financial theory that they use and explains which pieces of financial theory are most useful.The book is particularly useful for those interested in working in Investment Banking or Private Equity like me. It teaches you how an investment banker values a company, all about Mergers and Acquisitions and Leveraged Buyouts. There are chapters on Merger Arbitrage and Investment Strategies that are based in Corporate Finance Theory.The book is useful, easy to read and understand, well laid out and explains sophisticated financial theory in a way that even a novice can clearly understand. This book will sit on my desk as a reference when I start my job this summer.
