Edward Hopper: Portraits of America

The book describes Hoppers life in art starting out as an illustrator and then becoming a full time fine art painter. There are many separate descriptions of individual paintings with comparisons of other artists who paint in a similar style. The other artists work is shown as small black and white pictures of their work. The book gives a view of how people regarded Hoppers paintings and what he himself thought. This is a good book for anyone wanting to know more about Hopper and his work.

The info is very useful for me and the images are of a reasonable quality print. Still the book was cheap and still a useful addition to my collection.

Lovely book, as expected, seller was great at resolving missing book issue (turns out royal mail delivered both original AND the replacement together, not sellers fault at all).
