Osprey Daylite Plus Commuter Backpack, Wave Blue

I LOVE this bag! I use it primarily as a light backpack for flights and hiking and it fits my needs perfectly! Quality is great, many color ways to choose from, and extremely functional! I don't require much! Biggest thing I was looking for is a side pocket that fits my water bottles well to where I can take it out and put it back with ease (i.e. not have to fight or struggle to get the bottle back in, major per peece!). The mesh pockets allow my 40oz Owala bottles (even the one with a side handle) to slide in and out with ease. And then the small front pocket is great for easy access to my wallet/ID cards and meds. Another bonus is that the backpack can also slide onto the handle of a carry on luggage! Which makes it all the better to fly with. The chest and hip straps also gives good support too. Also I have multiple osprey bags that I've used for years and the quality is still there! Yep, can't rave enough about this bag, definitely worth it!

Went hiking all over Asia and Europe with this bag and it was great. It’s very lightweight and well vented for your back so it doesn’t feel hot. The zippers have enough resistance on them that it’s almost impossible for someone to open it without you knowing which is good in crowded areas. It protects my laptop just enough without added bulk. The material is thin which makes it lightweight, but it’s durable. I’m very happy with this bag and would recommend it to anyone looking for a lightweight and secure bag that can hold a laptop too.

Great lightweight 20 Liter daypack for hiking or school. Very well made backpack. Excellent designed pack with versatile pockets. Fits possibly up to 17" laptop without a sleeve or a water bladder. Fits extremely comfortably with adjustable straps. I highly recommend, and easily 5 stars.

I bought this for a day pack for my trip to Switzerland. Exceeded my expectations. Super light but with a frame for stability. The side mesh pockets hold large water bottles and it is easy to get the bottles out. My favorite feature is the smaller second pocket on the front that held all my extra stuff, and it was easy to access all of it. The main pocket held my rain jacket and a heavy jacket for cooler days. The front open pocket was also great when I needed to shove a wet rain jacket into the bag without getting everything else wet. The shoulder straps are comfortable as long as you keep the pack light, otherwise you will eventually feel some discomfort with the straps. Once I lightened the bag the problem went away. Overall an amazing bag that felt secure when hiking and no problems with quality.

This is a nice backpack, but it is true to its name: light. And small. It does accommodate my work laptop and its core accessories, but that's enough to pretty much fill it up. Certainly no room for a textbook. I've come to this bag from an Osprey Flapjack, which proved to be an awesome workhorse and very worth the price I paid for it. The straps are very thin (which might cause shoulder discomfort for some). My initial impression of this bag is that I won't get the same service out of it compared with the Flapjack, even if I do learn to like its thinner straps and smaller volume. I do agree with another reviewer who wrote that the extra pocket of the "plus" model is essentially useless, so save a few dollars if you can.

Osprey is simply the best. After years traveling with whatever hand-me-down packs/duffles/bags we'd received from family or friends, we bought a couple of the larger Osprey travel packs (e.g. Farpoint) for a particularly long trip. The quality of the design, materials, and construction spoiled us forever. My wife purchased a smaller backpack which she uses for *everything*. I bought another for my business travel and now (years later) this day-pack to carry my computer/tablet/snacks/book/etc.The quality of this small pack is just as good as all the others. It is the absolute smallest pack I could fit a 17" laptop into. (It doesn't fit it dedicated laptop pocket -- which I think take a 15" -- but that's OK; I keep my tablet the laptop sleeve and my laptop in the main compartment.) Everything feels solid and secure. I rarely use the waist belt and sternum strap, but they're great to have when it is necessary to run 1/2 mile between gates because your inbound flight arrived late. With everything I carry -- including the insanely heavy power brick, my pack weighs 17-ish pounds and after long carries, I sometimes wish for 1/4" more padding on the shoulder straps, but the existing padding is great for shorter trips and long hikes with more reasonable loads. The combination of zipped pockets, the stuff pocket, the adjustability, and other features together with the super-durable material and build? I rank this little one just like our other Osprey packs: 10 out of 10.

A very good pack for daily use if you commute to work on a bike, as I do and for hiking as well. Note that the design is sensitive to the helmet-wearing biker's needs. Many packs jam up against your helmet when you are in a prone position on your bike, making the pack difficult and uncomfortable to wear on a bike. This pack is designed well with the biker's needs in mind. The right size for a laptop which fits perfectly into the dual-use hydration pack/laptop sleeve.Has a hole for the hydration pack's tube to fit through for easy access to water while hiking or riding.Good pockets and organizers including a key holder, external zippered pocket and two side pocket which can hold up to around a 750 ml bottle each in addition to the hydration pack.
