edit 1-8-23.. supermicro dual board quit showing cpu temp. replaced with 2 gigabyte x99ud4p new temps show board vs with a non contact temp gauge difference about 1c room temp 18c before temp with supermicro 4u cooler idle 38c ,load temp 60c ..after with thermaltake riing 120mm idle temp 18-25c load 34-40c . what a big difference in noise level and temp. that is temps when playing gta5, metro series, warframe,cod series, fallout series, assassins series.

Got this sink/fan combo for my new showroom gaming PC. I have a gorgeous case with a 4/5 glass window pane to showcase the beauty of the computers that I create... and there in the big clear window is this giant beautiful heatsink with the Thermaltake emblem stamped into it next to two large stains/scratches from manufacturing directly on the top fin of the sink. It's ugly, it's the first thing I see when I look through the window in daylight, and I'm not sure I'm as impressed by Thermaltake's quality control anymore. They used to stand for quality in form and function. I've recommended hundreds of Thermaltake sinks and fans for many of my clients, but I guess all good things can't last forever. Functions well, and keeps my i5-7600k very cool under super heavy load, so I'm happy with the performance, but will likely end up using ceramic high temp paint to mask their blemishes, and maintain the performance. The build will be more custom than I planned.

Installation was an ordeal compared to other coolers I've installed, but aside from that I couldn't be happier. Running an i7_7700K at 22% overclock and I never see temperatures over 60. Extremely quite most of the time. Gets a bit noisy when it ramps up, but it cools everything quickly so these are only very brief periods. I suspect some tweaking the cooling and acceleration curves could fix this but I haven't adjusted it yet.Side note: The ring LED is a very clean aesthetic for an internal fan. I love the way it looks.
