I voluntarily stop and help people broken down on the side of the road, mostly trying to hold off some of the highway traffic to give people a safer working area, and needed something a little more economical than regular road flares. Traffic cones work great in the daytime when it's harder to see these, but these things light up the road at night. Just remember next time you're driving to imagine a specific exit sign is your broken down vehicle, if you're driving 75mph imagine at what point you should move over into the passing lane. Once you have that in mind safely (and I seriously mean safely, don't get distracted and cause an accident) count how many white stripes you pass between that point and the area you're imaging the car to be. Say you counted 60 stripes, well if you do the math you'd need to put the first light out 60 stripes behind your vehicle, then 50, 40, 30, and so on until you're back at your vehicle. A lot of people don't realize how far of a walk that is and put them all within 10 feet of the vehicle, and when your just standing there it looks great, but for the driver doing 75mph he doesn't notice them until he's already passing your vehicle. Would recommend this product. Its also a plus that I can charge them in the case in the truck or at home! If they get wet and/or run over it's ok too!!

I chose this because, although pricey, it's the only set of LED flares I can find that are rechargeable. As another reviewer mentioned, when you open the box you can just tell it's a quality product, well-made. Comes with two charging cables, one for car, one for wall outlet. Cables plug into the case, where you charge the flares. You can charge as many as you want at a time. The instructions say they are waterproof to 10 feet, and float. I floated one in my bathroom sink (photo). These aren't really bright in the daytime, they're about as bright as your turn signal. But at night they definitely do the job. The magnets work well (two on my car in photo). Nine different flash patterns to choose from. I've drained the batteries and recharged and everything is working fine. Haven't tried the car charger cable yet but I'm confident it will work properly. As far as I can tell it's a great product, very satisfied with my purchase.

Lights could be brighter. On - off button slightly difficult to depress and activate, especially in the cold. Too many choices for flashing modes, would prefer one or two choices to simulate emergency vehicles. When disabled on a cold rainy night on a busy road your focus should be to apply the flares and get to a safe location as quickly as possible. The product seems well made including the storage case and recharging cords.

When I open the product I was extremely pleased with the quality and make. The case and the fact that it charges the lights all the same time it’s pretty amazing. These lights are extremely bright and weird couple together they are good for any emergency situation. The only con that I can see is that during direct sunlight they are not as bright as a group of LEDs clustered together would be.

These lights are awesome! Powerful enough to be seen for quite a ways! Little pricey but how much is your safety worth?
