They’re sized small. I ordered a men’s large for a 12.5 running shoe and they’re way too small. I’m replacing w x-large.

Q: Is it ok to run on pavement? My runs are combination snow/blacktop

Well, not for me--to hard, felt like I was running on marbles.

Q: how well do these work with shoes with medium-large lugs (salomon speedcross 4)?

I wear these over my size 11.5 saucony trail running shoes. They work well on icy roads, as well as snowy ski hills. I used mine a lot last year and then had a ski hill running, obstacle course race. Did 4 laps which ended up being 17.5 miles total. By the time I finished my trax were shredded. I threw them away and now bought another pair for this year. I also bought my fiance' a pair......I like them a lot.

Q: I am borderline 10-10.5 in womens or solid 8.5 in mens. Would it be better to order up with medium or stick with small?

I am a solid 8 1/2 in a women’s shoe. I can’t find the size on the yaks that are currently on my shoes. What I can tell you is I ordered according to my shoe size of 8 1/2 and I wish I had gone up a size. I think because of the solid plate on the mid foot they are very difficult to stretch onto your shoes unlike the regular yak tracks. Hope that helps.
