Just like I remembered from childhood
The cards could be a little more durable, but the rest of it is perfect. The best part is the little wood block armies instead of the plastic crap in the current versions. Even the lozenge shaped armies are wood! I actually prefer the cardboard army holders over the plastic bins, they always seemed to break and I keep the armies in sealable baggies anyway. Outer packaging is well printed and sturdy, the cardboard insert that holds the army containers, dice and cards is a little lightweight. The map is well printed and heavyweight. Can't say enough good things about this edition. Worth the few extra sheckels for the wood game pieces!

Just Like You Remembered
What a great product! It is the old game of Risk that I remember from my childhood. All the army pieces are little colored wooden (not plastic) pieces. The board itself is nice and substantial. I think it will stand the test of time very well.

Retro RISK brings back the wooden pieces!
I purchased this to replace a version of risk that had plastic pieces. I was trying to teach my son how to play risk because I loved to play this as a kid. This version brings back the familiar square wooden pieces to represent troops like the one I had many years ago. I find that it is much easier to teach someone how to play with the wooden blocks. Removing and adding army's is much easier to explain to children with this version because it only has the square pieces and a "pill shaped" piece to represent 10 army's as opposed to some versions where tiny plastic men, horses, and cannons represent the army's. This board is also much larger than most RISK boards which allows more room to place the pieces and the location of them does not get mixed up as much.

Highly competitive, unique game
If you are competitive (and a secret capitalist) like me, Risk is the game for you.For those of you who have never played Risk, prepare yourself of a bit of a learning curve. The game itself is simple, but the format of the instructions seem a bit convoluted at first glance. Plan for some extra time to read over the rules and make sure everyone is on the same page before playing, as it is not as straightforward as your typical board game. What I love about this version of Risk is its simple, to the point design. I hesitated at first because it looks old and outdated, but I think the original design adds to the fun of the game. No extra bells and whistles necessary to have a good time!I recommend Risk for family game night or groups larger than four. I typically play with a family of three and we all agree that the competition would have been more exiting with other players in the mix. Nevertheless, after giving this a shot, I intend on keeping it on my game shelf for years to come. It's one of those games that I look forward to playing with my future kids.

Great gift
My Husband played this when he was much younger & enjoyed it. We gifted our nephews this for Christmas & they love playing this! They said the instructions were easy to understand. Their ages are 9, 12, 14.

It is even better than expected!
I haven’t played this game in a long time, but as a kid I loved it. When I found this reproduction of the original 1959 version I couldn’t wait. It hasn’t disappointed and I can’t wait to beat my grandson! ❤️

Fantastic/neverending, great game
We played this for 3 hours a night for 3 nights in a row. Game never ends, so it was a 9 hour marathon, by the end of which we were ready to kill each other, screaming, yelling, swearing...love, love, love it but you should be way older than 8 years old to play it...it ain't easy.
