These perches are absolutely gorgeous! They're not only aesthetically pleasing, with their deep red hue and varying sizes of branches, but also sturdy and smooth, almost polished-smooth, and my birds love them. It also allows these perches to be easy to clean with a toothbrush or sponge, and their naturalness makes for an interesting look in the cage and for healthy birdie feet! They are also different every time you order, and it's easy to change up a bird's environment simply by rotating the perch any number of degrees.This is the second time I've ordered these perches and will definitely recommend them to others.

I ordered this Large Manzanita Bird Perch (11" to 12") from the Manzanitashop to make a parrot perch for my daughters green face parrots. It is a solid piece of wood, dark almost black and has a screw to mount it to a block and a base for the block. If you would like to just drill and screw it into a vertical wood or dry wall area with a stud behind it, it should work right out of the box. 1/4-20 and wood threads make up the double ended stud screw. These are sold in hardware stores from the fastener bins for about 50 cents. The Manzanita branch wood is supposed to be very hard and should last a while with the chewing and gnawing that goes on with these little carnivorous biters. That is my experience with my daughters parrots, the little demons! I like it well enough for $2.98 price, but delivery is $5.49, so that diminishes the value to me somewhat.

My birds were okay with it, they didn't seem to use it a lot, but I noticed that I can't keep it horizontal for long periods of time because it would snap the bars on the cage off. You'll definitely need thick bars to hold this guy up.Enclosed is a picture of the bars that will snap if you place this perch on it.I ended up using this guy Vertically (look at picture) and placed toys on it, which seemed to improve the bird's usage for it.

The color of the wood underneath the brown exterior covering does not seem right. I’ve had birds for many years and bought manzanita perches countless times. I thought I would try purchasing from this seller. Big mistake. The wood is either not real manzanita or it is of poor quality. I didn’t feel comfortable putting them in my budgies’ cage as it wasn’t clear what kind of wood it was. I threw them all away rather than risk their health. I wasted $65 on the perches themselves, plus the $30 on shipping.

This is the perfect shape and size branch to add to my lovebird’s cage. I love having different sizes and materials available for her and this natural perching branch is just as described and looks great in the cage, too. Thank you!
