Lechuza 13330 Classico Color 60 Self-Watering Planter for Indoor and Outdoor Use, 23" x23" x 22", White Matte

I've been buy Lezchuza self-watering planters for many years. They always work beautifully. I've tried other brands, and they just don't work as well as for monitoring water as Lechuza. It truly takes the guess-work out of watering.I bought this super large pot for a weeping fig tree (indoor) that I have. The plant was root-bound, and I was struggling to keep it adequately watered. Many of the leaves were dying and I was worried that the whole tree would die. My only thought was that I should repot it to save it. I originally thought this pot would be too huge for the tree, BUT keep in mind that the bottom portion of the inside of this planter has the water resevoir, so the actual dirt doesn't go down that far. Inside dimension is ~15" down from the top. And even though it's about 24" across the top, it does taper down a bit, and the watering shaft butts into the pot a few inches in one spot. (see the photo).I bought a big bag of potting soil (2 cubic feet), and had more than enough soil. Keep in mind that my tree also had a pretty big root ball of soil already.I also bought the rolling caddy that goes with it (buy that separately), so that I can easily move the planter around. The Lechuza caddy fits discreetly beneath so that you can't see the wheels. The pot itself is kind of thin, but I don't expect that it will break (it's pretty solid), and it doesn't look thin from a distance.I'm happy with it, and my tree is thriving.

We got 2 as a gift for my parents. We didn’t want them to have to walk down the front stairs every day just to water plants And they really liked having something at their entry like that.. And in Florida, during the summer especially, frequent watering is necessary! The planters are large and roomy and easy to fill. We like the style, it’s very simplistic but I do wish they had more options to choose from.My dad was really impressed with the technology - even though it’s quite simplistic it is wonderful.
